Tuesday, March 19, 2019: Delhi Tour and Meet Women Artists, Filmmakers, Musicians, Entertainers ​ …

Breakfast at the hotel, then depart for a guided morning city tour. We’ll visit , the Jama Masjid (largest in India), and the . We’ll visit the (www.BahaiHouseofWorship.in), ​ ​ ​ ​ a flower-shaped architectural marvel and the mother temple of the Bahai faith on the Indian subcontinent …

And we’ll explore Minar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qutb_Minar), a UNESCO World Heritage … ​ ​ ​ ​ site constructed between AD 1192 and AD 1368. It is the region’s finest example of Indo- and a must-see Delhi historical venue.

In the late morning, we’ll embark on a special excursion to two of the top 10 filmmaking spots in Delhi! ​ ​ We’ll take our lunch following this excursion, then sit down with a group of women leaders in media & ​

entertainment (M&E). We’ll discuss the role of women in Indian M&E, the process of filmmaking in Delhi & in , and advocacy for girl’s and women’s voices in the industry. A group of young musicians ​ and actors will join us to discuss their music videos, the competition for gigs, and how they promote themselves in India and abroad. This is India at its modern, creative best! ​

Wednesday, March 20, 2019: Coding, gaming & robotics / India’s religious diversity / Sanskriti Kendra cultural program ​

Breakfast at the hotel, then depart for a morning visit to a Delhi school that leads the nation in coding, gaming & robotics! This school teaches girls to code, beginning at a very young age. We will ​ engage interactively with these young girls, learning and teaching at the same time! Girls range in age ​ from 3 to 18 years.

Next, we’ll visit a special worship space called Gobind Sadan, (www.GobindSadan.org), a unique ​ ​ ​ ​ contemplative interfaith community. Our host is Mary Fisher, the author of Living Religions, by far the ​ ​ ​ ​ best-selling college textbook on the world’s religions in the United States today. Our time at Gobind Sadan will include a tour of the premises, which feature dedicated sacred spaces for each of the world’s major faith traditions, and a conversation with Ms. Fisher about India’s status as host to a wonderful patchwork of religions. (We’ll take our lunch at Gobind Sadan, then return to the hotel to refresh.) ​ ​

Sanskriti Kendra: Evening Cultural Program The Sanskriti Kendra (www.SanskritiFoundation.org) spans ​… ​ ​ ​ ​ 7 acres. It is devoted to art, nature, and culture. It’s a lovely, peaceful place, and we’re here for music, dance, food, and history. We sit on straw mats in a half-circle facing a circular, grassy stage. As soon as we sit, servers come by with delicious Indian appetizers: cream of tomato soup, kalmi vada (fried lentil fingers), and dhokla (steamed lentil cakes with mint chutney). As we nibble, musicians and dancers enter. Our troupe will be from India’s Rajasthan state, and the clothing, music, and dance will be a lovely blend evoking indigenous Indian, Roma, and Native American traditions.

Dinner at Sanskriti Kendra Following the music and dance performance, dinner will be taken here at ​ ​ … ​ Sanskriti Kendra. The spread of dishes represents the four regions of India: north, east, west, and south. An option after dinner is to take a tour of the premises, which includes the Museum of Every Act - a collection of more than 2000 everyday objects made with intricate beauty.

We’ll take our breakfast at 8:00 AM, then Pardada Pardadi → Agra overland. Immediately on arrival in Agra, ​ ​ we’ll visit the TAJ MAHAL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taj_mahal), truly a wonder of this world! … ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​

The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built this famous mausoleum, to show his eternal love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal was completed in 1653 – and continues to inspire millions to this day!

Overnight at Four points by Sheraton, Agra or similar on a full-board basis ​ ​

Monday, March 25, 2019: Agra → Ranthambhore National Park ​ ​ ​

Breakfast at the hotel, then visit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agra_fort) Agra Fort a ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ … must-see for its magnificent architecture, a rare mix of the aesthetic sensibilities of 3 Mughal Kings: Akbar, Jehagir and Shah Jahan. The complex is massive, comprising many multi-use buildings, streets, and shops. We’ll take our lunch at a local restaurant. Post-lunch, we’ll depart for Ranthambhore, a 250-kilometer drive. Buffet dinner, then overnight at the Tiger Den, Ranthambore or similar, on a ​ ​ ​ full-board basis.

Tuesday, March 26, 2019: Project Tiger! ​

We’ll assemble before dawn at Reception to depart for our tiger safari; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranthambore_National_Park and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Tiger to whet your ​ ​ appetite! Tea, coffee, and cookies are served in the hotel lobby before departing for the safari.

We’ll return to the hotel for a buffet breakfast, after which we’ll enjoy free time to relax or take in recreational activities such as badminton, table tennis, or a nature walk. After a bit of leisure, we’ll take lunch at the hotel, then depart for our afternoon safari. Return to the hotel to enjoy local folk music w/ bonfire, over dinner. Overnight at Tiger Den Ranthambhore or similar, full-board. ​ ​

Wednesday, March 27, 2019: Ranthambhore → Jaipur ​

After an early breakfast, we’ll depart on our journey to Jaipur – India’s Pink City, famed for its stunning ​ ​ architecture and traditional arts & textiles. On arrival, we’ll check into our hotel, and enjoy lunch. We’ll take a bit of free time in the afternoon – then depart for an evening visit to Chokhi Dhani for a traditional ​ ​ Rajasthani dinner with dance & music. Overnight at Ramada, Jaipur or similar on a full-board basis. ​ ​ ​

Thursday, March 28, 2019: Jaipur, Rajasthan: India’s Pink City! ​

Breakfast – then we visit the impressive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amer_Fort). This fort is ​ ​ ​ ​ a superb example of Rajput architecture, stunningly located on a hillside overlooking a lake. We’ll return to our hotel for lunch, after which we’ll visit the City Palace and Museum, Jai Singh’s Observatory, and the Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal)! We’ll take the evening at leisure, with the option to enjoy some last-minute shopping at a local bazaar. Overnight at the Ramada Jaipur or similar on a full-board basis. ​ ​

Friday, March 29, 2019: Jaipur → Delhi → Dubai ​

After breakfast, we’ll depart on our 250-kilometer journey to Delhi. We’ll take our lunch en route, at a local restaurant. We’ll reach Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport to board our flight home. Emirates #515 departs Delhi for Dubai at 9:25 PM – and arrives Dubai at 11:55 PM. ​
