Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus Denver, Colorado December 2015 – Present •Special Projects Lead

The Special Projects Lead position is responsible for oversight and administration of major projects at the Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus and partners with the Lead Designer and of the Exhibit Design Services to manage the Exhibits Team projects. Additional responsibilities include; collaborating with the Facilities, Exhibits, and Marketing departments on projects outside of everyday scope of work. The position is also responsible for the management of projects within the Exhibits Design Services department. The position reports directly with the Museum CEO and President.

Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus Denver, Colorado January 2013 – November 2015 •Project Manager for Museum Expansion Responsible for managing $16.1M expansion of the Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus. The expansion included 10,000 sq. ft. of new exhibit space, programming space, and public amenities; 30,000 sq. ft. outdoor park with exhibits and programming space; and development of the new campus including a 200 space parking lot. As project manager my role was to synthesize the owner’s goals with the designer’s vision and the craftsman’s abilities, producing a clear path for success. This included working with architects, exhibit designers, fabricators, construction teams, City partners and museum leadership to complete the project on time and in budget while remaining open to the public. Through diplomatic leadership, I created a strong team atmosphere, resulting in all the players going above and beyond expectations to create something that is truly unique.

Atter Inc. June 2008 - Present Denver, Colorado •Owner Atter Inc. specializes in exhibit curation, project management, and graphic design. Projects have included work for organizations such as, Denver International Airport, Arts and Venues Denver, , The Governor’s Residence at the Boettcher Mansion, the Colorado Tourism Office, Kirkland Museum, Colorado Preservation, Inc., Historic Denver, Central City Opera, Luis Valley National Cultural Heritage Area, and Molly Brown House Museum.

Historic Denver November 2007 – June 2008 Denver, Colorado •Director of Programs Historic Denver is the largest private historic preservation organization in the country. As the Director of Programs I was responsible for the development and growth of all Historic Denver’s programming, including the Molly Brown House Museum, the Urban Living program and the Heritage Tourism program. Responsibilities include creative visioning, content development, fiscal development, project management, special event planning and grant writing.

Molly Brown House Museum January 2000 - November 2007 Denver, Colorado •Director/Curator Director of historic house museum with 45,000 annual visitation. Responsible for all operational aspects of museum including; institutional direction, interpretive focus, curation, business management, management of 18 person staff, fiscal planning, development, site preservation, program development, outreach, grant writing, and pubic relations. Achieved an increase in museum visitation and revenue through strong leadership and vision based on increasing number of exhibits, creative special events, consistent sponsorship, collaborative cross-promotions and a more visible institutional profile. Built a high performance team of 18 by communicating clear organizational goals, establishing long range plans, defining priority projects and including staff input.

Colorado Historical Society November 1998 - December 1999 Denver, Colorado •Collections Management Assistant Member of the Collection Management team for the Colorado History Museum. Responsible for coordinating, packing and moving the museum’s collection prior to storage upgrades. This included organizing materials needed, researching storage standards, overseeing physical packing, creating object handling guidelines, intern training, and supervising the move to new storage facilities.

Peabody Museum of Archeology and Ethnology February 1998 – July 1998 Harvard University Cambridge, MA • Repatriation Assistant Worked to facilitate the return of sacred objects to Native American tribes as part of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). Responsible for researching NAGPRA claims, customs and cultural mores in order to prepare for on-site tribal visits. Facilitated diplomatic relations between museum staff and visiting tribal elders, developed written procedures for implementing NAGPRA regulations into museum policy and supervised conservation and storage issues regarding culturally sensitive materials.

Peabody Museum of Archeology and Ethnology Fall 1997 Harvard University, Cambridge, MA • Registrar Intern Responsible for researching incoming accessions in order to uphold Fish and Wildlife regulations. Researched Endangered Species Act, Museum Law and importation regulations. Used Embark Collections Management Systems to create database for future reference.

Historic New England (formerly Society for Preservation of New England Antiquities) Fall 1995 Harrison Gray Otis House, Boston, MA • Archeology Intern Served as assistant to Lead Archeologist during site excavations. Responsible for cleaning, conservation, identification and cataloging objects found on-site.
