Dear Chairman Martin,

1am writing in support ofClear Channel's WLAC -1510 AM and its commitment to supporting the Nashville Community. For years, this station has gone above and beyond any rules mandated by the FCC.

WLAC has been a tremendous partner in promoting public awareness about scouting with public service announcements during air time. As a longtime media partner with our organization, the station has provided valuable airtime to promote our Boy Scout ofAmerica Annual Fall Golf Tournament as well as airtime for our Fall Scout membership recruitment program. Members of the radio station serve on the Fall GolfCommittee as well as the Council's Marketing Committee. One oftheir radio personalities serves on our Council's Executive Board as well.

WLAC- 1510 AM should serve as a model in its commitment to serving the Nashville community.. Furge the FCC not to impose any rules that hamper its ability to perform this valuable public service.

Sincerely,

Matthew Smith Finance and Marketing Director" , Middle Tennessee Council Boy Scouts ofAmerica

In the Matter of Broadcast Localism (MB Docket No. 04-233)

Dear Chainnan Martin:

It is disconcerting that the Federal Communications Corrnnission is considering a radical re-regulation of our nation's broadcast system in the pending localism proceedings. It would be wrong for the Commission to reverse decades ofdl:regulatory progress by imposing a series ofnew and burdensome regulations on broadcasters. I would ask you to reconsider such actions.

Clear Channel reaches our Philadelphia and Southem New Jersey communities through its radio stations, WDAS-FM "R&B and Classic Soul", WIOQ-FM "QI02", WISX "My 106.1", WRFF-FM "RadioI04.5", WUSL-FM "POWER99" and WUBA-AM "Orgullo Latino". The mere diversity of our fonnats requires us to address the local community. Playing an active role in our neighborhoods is an integral part ofour success.

Our stations appealing to the African American community, WDAS and WUSL, provide infonnation specific to our public both on-air and online. Patty Jackson's 411 is one of the most downloaded websites in Philadelphia and when Philadelphia's murder rate threatened to break a record, WUSL FM partnered with the Philadelphia School District for Safe Night Philadelphia promoting safe teen activities in 300 locations and a Children's March that drew thousands. WUBA services the Latino community and is an active sUppOrtt:T ofConcilio, the Council ofSpanish Speaking Organizations of Philadelphia. Additionally, all our stations were recognized by the Cradle of Liberty Council Boy Scouts ofAmerica as the 2007 Communications Industry Good Scout.

We engage full time staff and a Director for Community Affairs to manage our civic involvement. This is an ongoing process most recently recognized with our receiving the inaugural Crystal Heritage Award. The Crystal Heritage Award is given to a station that has won five Crystal Radio Awards, an annual award that acknowledges a radio station's year-round commitment to community service. Participation in our cities and towns is a standard practice for Clear Channel Philadelphia.

As broadcasters we know our responsibility to the audiences we serve. I urge the Commission not to impose any rules that will create unnecessary burdens and limit OUf ability to continue to provide our valuable community service.

RE: In the Matter of Broadcast Localism (MB Docket No. 04-233)

Dear Chairman Martin:

I am writing in supportofWRVW 107.5 The River and its commitment to serving the kids of Middle Tennessee.

The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt family knows we are blessed beyond measure to partner with the outstanding station, WRVW 107.5 The River. Their broadcasting excellence, volunteer efforts and year-round fundraising commitment prove that the station is vital to the f1fesaving work that takes place at Children's Hospital.

Throughout our affiliation, we have witnessec their desire to go above and beyond what would be considerec the nonmal call of duty. It is evident that the Children's Hospital is always at the top of The River's agenda as they promote our cause by educating their listeners through on air promotions detailing the miracles that take place at Children's Hospital. Not only do they donate air time and personal volunteer time to our cause, but they also are amazing fundraisers'

Annually, they set up camp in Children's Hospital for three days to hold the "River of Hope Radiothon." This wonderful effort raises much-neecec funds to treat every child with the best care possible regardless of their family's ability to pay. In the four years of our partnership, we have seen their hard work come to financial fruition, raising over $900,000 for the kids at Children's Hospital. This is one of the largest fundraisers, and it is integral to the care we offer.

This commendable radio station has investec its heart in the Children's Hospital mission through volunteering, promoting and fundraising. Rich, Woody, Jim, Madison, Ryno. Intem Adam, Lunch Box, Butter, Candace, Jeremy and Russ are members of our Children's Hospital family, and we are grateful for each of them. They serve as the patients' ambassadors, and they will not stop their endeavor until all of our kids are 'well on their way." Iurge the FCC not to impose any regulations that would hamper the ability of 107.5 The River to continue to make miracles happen for the thousands of Children's Hospital patients.

Sincerely,

Anna Rannells Children's Miracle Network Coordinator Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt

Dear Chairman Martin:

During my eight years as Executive Director for the Southern Arizona American Red Cross, Clear Channel Radio in Tucson has been Red Cross' most dependable and important media partner. Clear Channel annually produces and plays PSAs educating the public about Red Cross' important community event called the Real Heroes Breakfast: this event honors local people who have used Red Cross First Aid, CPR and Water Safety skills and have actually saved a person's life. The importance ofthis promotional support is that Clear Channel's PSAs effectively encourage hundreds ofpeople to register for Red Cross lifesaving classes.

Clear Channel also arranges for me to appear on all their stations to promote the event.

Red Cross also benefits from Clear Channel's promotional support for our Save a Life Saturday event that started in 2002. This is a hands-on, free family safety preparedness event that trains people to prevent drownings, rescue people from choking, keep pets safe and keep children safe on the internet. When polled informally, approximately 40 percent ofattendees report they learned about the event listening to Clear Channel stations.

Clear Channel continues to do a great job supporting educational and fundraising programs for many non profit agencies in our community. Red Cross could never afford to purchase even 10% ofthe cost ofwhat Clear Channel does to support our efforts to keep Tucson families safe.

Sincerely,
