As a current resident of Philadelphia, PA, I truly <3 SEPTA. But while I do <3 SEPTA, I don’t always love walking home alone from the subway at night. So for all of us industrious Kickers who grind hard and work in the city, or for those of us who just like to experience Philly as much as we can, I’ve made a lil’ list for you to use when you arrive at Broad and Olney at a time past my first grade bedtime. kicks Call your mom “If I had a spirit animal, Gritty would be the Okay Kickies, you know your mom loves you, so try to call her once in a while! I do these about 2-3 times a week and I’ve never had issues, so trust me, you’ll be fine! surrounding how we party and who we party with is better than most other schools — Lasallian parties are the common man’s parties. We don’t care about how much money you have, who you know, or what you wear; all we care about is that you’re ready to have fun. Parties at La Salle are convenient and affordable. On top of that, no one really cares what you wear. Most people don’t have to pay covers to get in, and even if you rush a grek organization, the most you might pay is $300 for dues. I tried going out at a bougie college a bit ago and realized just how much I appreciate La Salle party culture. When I go out at other schools my plans always fail terribly. At bougie schools, you may need to get on a list about 1-2 weeks beforehand and if that house is not throwing that night, you’re screwed. On top of that, one school’s dues were $10,000 a year— about $9,999 out of my budget. To me, party culture at some other universities is just classist and judgemental, unlike La Salle. At La Salle, we care about our community. As such, we ensure that partying, an essential part of college life, is available to all. We don’t judge based on status or socioeconomic class — we allow everyone to be messy inexpensively.
