The bird names have been listed and classified according to the scientific codes. An etymological study has been presented for scientific names, including genus and species. If it was possible we have provided the etymology of Persian and Gilaki native names of the birds. According to our best knowledge, there was no previous report gathering and describing the ornithological fauna of this part of the world. Gilan province, due to its meteorological circumstances and the richness of its animal life has harbored a wide range of animals. Therefore, the nomenclature system used by the natives for naming the animals, specially birds, has a prominent stance in this country. Many of these local and dialectal names of the birds have been entered into standard language of the country (Persian language). The study has presented majority of comprehensive list of the Gilaki bird names, categorized according to the ornithological classifications.

  • Trade and Cultural Contacts Between Northern and Southern Persian Gulf During Parthians and Sasanians: a Study Based on Pottery from Qeshm Island
Intl. J. Humanities (2011) Vol. 18 (2): (89-115) Trade and Cultural Contacts between Northern and Southern Persian Gulf during Parthians and Sasanians: A Study Based on Pottery from Qeshm Island Alireza Hojabri-Nobari 1, Alireza Khosrowzadeh 2, Seyed Mehdi Mousavi Kouhpar 3, Hamed Vahdatinasab 4 Received:21/9/2011 Accepted:3/1/2011 Abstract The first season of survey at Qeshm, carried out during the winter of 2006, resulted in the identification of nine sites from the Parthian and Sasanian periods. The surface pottery from these sites suggests their trade and cultural relations with contemporary sites in the southern Persian Gulf and other areas. For instance, the Parthian and Sasanian glazed types in Qeshm Island are closely related materials found from Khuzestan as well as northern and southern coasts of the Persian Gulf, including ed-Dur, Suhar, Kush, Failaka and Qalat Bahrain. Parthian painted ware reveals close similarities to monochrome and bichrome painted pottery of southeastern Iran, Oman coasts and the southern Persian Gulf, specifically ed-Dur, Suhar, Kush and Tel-i-Abrak. The so-called Indian Red Polished Ware is the other diagnostic type widespread in the northern and southern coasts of the Persian Gulf from the middle Parthian up to the Downloaded from eijh.modares.ac.ir at 11:47 IRDT on Monday August 31st 2020 early Islamic period. The material was being widely produced in the Indian region (Gujarat) and Indus, and exported to different places around the Persian Gulf. The Coarse Black Ware ( ceramic noir epaise ) with decorative raised bands recorded in Qeshm compares with coarse-black material from the southern Persian Gulf, also occurring at sites such as ed-Dur and Abu Dhabi Islands.

The vehicles’ exhaust 2. Gasoline evaporation 3. Leakage from natural gas 4. Emissions from the use of solvents and paints, 5. Using as an additive to unleaded gasoline,… Benzene is an aromatic volatile organic compound characterized by US EPA as a “known” human carcinogen for all routes of exposure and is clasified by the International Association on the Risks of Cancer [IARC, 1987] as class 1 carcinogen. 4 Background Annual averages of Benzene concentration have been measured in various European regions (Cocheo et al. 2000; Skov et al. 2001). The annual average concentrations of benzene in metropolitans have ranged from a almost zero to more than 6.25 ppb (Anabtawi et al. 1996). In Japan, the ambient standard for benzene concentration has been set to be 0.69 ppb (Laowagul and Yoshizumi, 2009). Iran Department of the Environment (DoE) and US EPA have set the standard for the ambient Benzene concentration levels to be 1.56 ppb [Iran DOE, 2010]. 5 Background Despite the regulations established, benzene concentrations and cancer risk assessment have not been investigated in Tehran due to the lack of data for ambient benzene concentration levels.

Anaplasmosis is generally caused by intraerythrocytic rickettsia of Anaplasma genus and transmitted biologically and mechanically. The current study was designed to determine the prevalence of Anaplasma spp. in cattle in Talesh; one of the rainy Iranian counties in Gilan province, Iran. From May to November 2015, one hundred and fifty blood samples of cattle were collected from different regions in Talesh. DNA was extracted from blood samples and subsequently, 16S rRNA and MSP4 genes were analysed by Nested-PCR method for differentiation of Anaplasma spp. The results showed that 40.66% of blood samples were positive for Anaplasma spp. and that 24.66%, 35.33%, 9.33% and 12% of positive samples were infected with A. phagocytophilum, A. bovis, A. marginale and A. centrale respectively. Statistical analysis by Chi-square test did not show any significant rela- tionship between the presence of Anaplasma species and variables sex, age and tick infestation (P˃0.05).

In this model, 33 functional groups including fish, benthos, phytoplankton, zooplankton, seaweed and detritus were simulated. In total, 3757 samples of stomach contents were analyzed based on the weight and numerical methods. Bony fish and crustacean were found to be the main prey in most of the stomach contents. The mean trophic level in the study area was calculated to be 3.08. The lowest trophic level was belonged to Liza klunzingeri, (2.50) and the highest belong to Trichiurus lepturus (4.45). The range of total mortality varied from 1.11 per year for T. Lepturus to 3.55 per year for Sillago sihama.
