Speaking of phone chargers, remember to unplug them once your phone is fully charged! Think! You can make a difference Milk Bottle Appeal As you are having your breakfast, please think of Year R who would love to re-purpose your empty 4 pint milk bottles to make an igloo for their role play area! Please save your bottles with lids and bring them into school to help support this project. Spread the word and ask family and friends to save them

Back in Time for School

On Monday 3rd February, Year 2 travelled back in time to the Victorian era and spent the day just as a Victorian children would have done at school. Instead of using pens and pencils we did our writing using chalk and a blackboard and we learnt how to do drill on the playground. Mrs Cole was our teacher for the day and she was very strict. When we did not do our learning or did not listen properly, we had to wear the dunces hat and sit in the corner.

We also tasted gruel (which was actually porridge) and some of us enjoyed it but most of us hated it. We also did some still life drawings of daffodils using chalks.

Ryden said “Victorian day was hard because your weren’t allowed to talk and you could only go to the toilet when it was break time”.

Toby said he felt Victorian times were a bit too strict because the rules were quite hard. Some children found the day easy though. Heidi said the day was easy because Mrs Cole gave us chalk boards and it’s easier than paper. Attention all Parents!

Would you like to get more involved with your child’s school and help us to improve our school for all the children who attend? We will shortly have a Parent Governor vacancy. If you would be interested in finding out more please contact Lindsay Manning in the School Office to arrange to meet with Chris Slater our Chair of Governors or email [email protected]
