Sabtu, 19 Disember 2020 Edutorium, MOE HQ Sabtu, 19 Disember 2020 Edutorium, MOE HQ 19 December 2020 • Edutorium @ MOE HQ Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman (AGAB) diperkenalkan pada tahun 2007 untuk mengiktiraf sumbangan guru Bahasa Melayu dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran Bahasa Melayu di sekolah. Dengan usaha dan iltizam yang tinggi untuk melestarikan dan memajukan bahasa, sastera dan budaya Melayu dalam pendidikan, guru-guru penerima AGAB merupakan suri teladan kepada guru Bahasa Melayu serta anak didik yang lain. Objektif Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman Arif Budiman ialah visi pendidikan Bahasa Melayu di Singapura dan anugerah ini bertujuan mencapai objektif yang berikut: • mengiktiraf guru Bahasa Melayu atas sumbangan dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran Bahasa Melayu di sekolah; • mengiktiraf dan menyokong sumbangan guru Bahasa Melayu melestarikan dan memajukan bahasa, sastera dan budaya Melayu dalam pendidikan; dan • mengiktiraf guru-guru yang cemerlang sebagai guru teladan dalam memperjuangkan dan memajukan Bahasa Melayu. 2 Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman 2020 Takrif ‘Arif Budiman’ ‘Arif Budiman’ bermaksud insan berilmu pengetahuan yang berbakti kepada masyarakat. Seseorang yang berciri Arif Budiman mempunyai kekuatan kognitif, moral, emosi dan sosial. Antara ciri-ciri Arif Budiman termasuklah arif atau berpengetahuan tentang bahasa, budaya, nilai dan sastera dan mempamerkan sikap berbudi bahasa serta sentiasa bersedia menabur budi. Gelar dan Jenis Anugerah Dua bentuk Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman (AGAB) dalam empat kategori ditawarkan setiap tahun, iaitu: • Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman – Teladan (Sekolah Rendah) • Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman – Perangsang (Sekolah Rendah) • Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman – Teladan (Sekolah Menengah/Prauniversiti) • Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman – Perangsang (Sekolah Menengah/Prauniversiti) Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman Kategori Teladan diberikan kepada guru Bahasa Melayu yang cemerlang dan telah berkhidmat sebagai guru sekurang-kurangnya 10 tahun. Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman Kategori Perangsang pula diberikan kepada guru Bahasa Melayu yang cemerlang dan telah berkhidmat sebagai guru kurang daripada 10 tahun. Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman 2020 3 Sejak diperkenalkan pada tahun 2007, seramai 61 guru Bahasa Melayu telah menerima Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman. Sejak diperkenalkan pada tahun 2007, anugerah ini telah memberikan inspirasi kepada ramai guru Bahasa Melayu untuk menjadi suri teladan kepada rakan guru serta anak didik yang lain. Penerima- penerima AGAB yang lepas terus berbakti dan memberikan sumbangan yang bermakna dalam pendidikan bahasa dan budaya Melayu di sekolah dan di peringkat masyarakat. Pengaruh dan peranan seorang guru Bahasa Melayu sememangnya amat besar dalam dunia yang kian pesat berubah. Peranan guru Bahasa Melayu kita bukan sahaja terhad di dalam bilik darjah sebagai penggerak bahasa, sastera dan budaya pelajar. Malah, guru-guru Bahasa Melayu merupakan pemangkin pembentukan perwatakan yang memupuk nilai-nilai murni dalam kalangan pelajar-pelajar mereka. Berbekalkan hati insani yang ingin membentuk masyarakat berjiwa murni, guru-guru Bahasa Melayu kita juga menabur bakti melalui pelibatan mereka dalam perkongsian ilmu serta menggembleng tenaga membantu masyarakat kita. Inilah hakikat sebenar tanggungjawab dan amanah yang dipikul oleh seorang guru Bahasa Melayu. Semoga pengiktirafan ini memperteguh tekad dan semangat guru-guru kita untuk menghidupkan pembelajaran Bahasa Melayu dan merealisasikan visi Arif Budiman. Sirih dijunjung si sirih pinang, Sirih disusun bertingkat-tingkat; Arif disanjung, jasa dikenang, Ilmu dikongsi, budi meningkat. Tahniah kepada para penerima AGAB! Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman 2020 9 Arca AGAB 2020 Sirih merupakan lambang kebudayaan masyarakat Melayu. Daun sirih merupakan sesuatu yang tidak asing lagi dalam kalangan masyarakat Melayu. Sirih pepohon yang tumbuh menjalar dan memanjat tanpa merosakkan tumbuhan perumahnya. Sirih memberikan erti sifat yang merendah diri, kesantunan dan kemuliaan. Begitulah sifat-sifat yang terserlah dalam diri penerima Anugerah Guru Arif Budiman. Reka bentuk arca melambangkan suatu takungan ilmu yang ingin dicurahkan kepada anak bangsa agar terus cekal mengharungi pelbagai cabaran yang mendatang. Sirih-sirih yang bertindan memaparkan keutuhan dan iltizam guru menggalas tanggung jawabnya tanpa jemu. Begitulah kiasan seorang guru yang luas pengaruhnya dalam kehidupan anak didiknya. Saya menjalani sesi amali (practicum) di sekolah tersebut dan langsung dipanggil semula untuk mengajar di sekolah itu. Sewaktu mengajar di sekolah itu, saya belajar secara sambilan selama 4 tahun di Universiti Sains Kemasyarakatan Singapura (SUSS) dalam bidang Bahasa dan Kesusasteraan Melayu. Saya dimasukkan dalam senarai dekan pada salah satu semester pengajian saya. Saya berpeluang untuk mengajar semua peringkat dalam masa 5 tahun ini. Saya juga meraih pengalaman mengajar murid-murid Darjah 6 Standard selama 3 tahun. Pada tahun 2018, saya telah ditemu bual oleh Berita Harian mengenai pengajaran yang saya jalankan untuk murid-murid

    REACH MEDIA RELEASE NEW REACH SUPERVISORY PANEL TO FOCUS ON COMMUNITIES, PMETS AND YOUTHS To further strengthen engagement with Singaporeans, REACH has aligned the representation of its Supervisory Panel members to focus on three main groups of Singaporeans: Communities, PMETS, and Youths. The new Panel will be appointed to the seventh REACH Supervisory Panel for a two-year term from 1 October 2018. It comprises members from the public, private and people sectors representing media, businesses, social service, grassroots, unions and youths. 15 out of the 29 Panel are new- a deliberate decision to allow rejuvenation as well as to maintain continuity. 2. The Panel will continue to be helmed by Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Social & Family Development, Mr Sam Tan, who assumed the appointment of REACH Chairman on 1 Oct 2015. He will be assisted by two Vice-Chairpersons- Mr Liang Eng Hwa, Member of Parliament (MP) for Holland-Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency, and Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, Member of Parliament (MP) for Jurong Group Representation Constituency. Both have served as REACH Supervisory Panel members since 2016. The full list of Panel members can be found in the Annex. 3. Among the 15 new members are Nanyang Technological University (NTU) student Ms Sheena Lee, 21, a recipient of the Ministry of Education (MOE) teaching scholarship, Chairman of Action Community Entrepreneurship (ACE) Dr Mark Hon, and The Eurasian Association (Singapore) management committee member Mr Andrew Richard Pang. 4. Ms Lee hopes she will be able to contribute and inspire youths in Singapore to speak up and play their part to continue the success of Singapore.
