Show management elected to hire an AAEP vet to inspect the horses per the HPA. Dr. John Poe, AAEP veterinarian and retired USDA VMO, with impeccable credentials, was in charge of inspections. A team of six USDA VMOs arrived and observed before deciding that Dr. Poe and his team were doing an excellent job and the VMOs left. Tommy Williams served as the announcer and Chase Williams was the organist. They did a great job of keeping the large crowd of specta- tors entertained. The Honorable Hunter Fikes marked the cards and Sid Abernathy captured the moments with his camera. Rolf Mullins was the paddock master and Terry Matthews lined the horses up. The concessions were set up in the Cowboy Lodge and they had some good food. You could sit down and enjoy your food in air conditioned comfort. Jacquelyn A. Smith was in charge of concessions. Clearview Farm is a gorgeous facility on Highway 231 S. If you’re visiting in Shelbyville, ride out to Clearview and visit. The stalls and indoor arena are top of the line.
