NEWS FROM THE COVID-19 TEMPORARY EMERGENCY FUNDING GROUP IN GOVAN GROUP PUBLISHES NAMES OF ORGANISATIONS HELPED BY COVID CASH List revealed of those doing a fantastic job in our communities AUGUST 4 2020 THE full list of organisations in Govan which have benefited from funding to help fight coronavirus has been published. Their names have been revealed after the Covid-19 Temporary Emergency Funding completed its distribution of £200.000 in funding. The money has come from the Scottish Government’s “Supporting Communities Fund” designed to assist communities as they cope with and adapt to the coronavirus pandemic. The Group is made up of Linthouse, Govan and Elderpark Housing Associations and “Govan Thriving Places” along with four elected representatives from the Govan ward on Glasgow City Council. A spokesperson for the Group said the list being published was in line with “its total commitment to transparency” in the distribution of the money. The list of recipients of the money, the amount each received and a brief outline of the work being undertaken is: Organisation Project Award Activity Food for Good £15,000.00 Develop a Covid-19 (Govan Thriving Action Plan for the Govan Places) Thriving Place Food for Good Thematic Group. Recruit Community Chefs who meet Quality Assurance Framework standard. Identify venues, volunteers or staff members who can support food activity in Govan Thriving Place Provide Hot Meals to those who are most vulnerable in the Govan Thriving Place community Demonstrations on how to cook and promotion of Flat -

In The Antonine Wall: Papers in Honour of Professor Lawrence Keppie, Papers in honour of nearly 40 archaeologists, historians and heritage managers present their researches on the Antonine Wall in recognition of the work Professor Lawrence Keppie of Lawrence Keppie, formerly Professor of Roman History and Wall Antonine The Archaeology at the Hunterian Museum, Glasgow University, who spent edited by much of his academic career recording and studying the Wall. The 32 papers cover a wide variety of aspects, embracing the environmental and prehistoric background to the Wall, its structure, planning and David J. Breeze and William S. Hanson construction, military deployment on its line, associated artefacts and inscriptions, the logistics of its supply, as well as new insights into the study of its history. Due attention is paid to the people of the Wall, not just the ofcers and soldiers, but their womenfolk and children. Important aspects of the book are new developments in the recording, interpretation and presentation of the Antonine Wall to today’s visitors. Considerable use is also made of modern scientifc techniques, from pollen, soil and spectrographic analysis to geophysical survey and airborne laser scanning. In short, the papers embody present- day cutting edge research on, and summarise the most up-to-date understanding of, Rome’s shortest-lived frontier. -

These include health visiting, health improvement, district nursing, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, nutrition and dietetic services, mental health, addictions and learning disability services. As well as this, we host a range of specialist services including: Specialist Children’s Services, Homeless Services and The Sandyford. We are part of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and provide services for 584,000 people - the entire population living within the area defined by the LocalAuthority boundary of Glasgow City Council. Within our boundary, we have: 154 GP practices 136 dental practices 186 pharmacies 85 optometry practices (opticians) The CHP has more than 3,000 staff working for it and is split into three sectors which are aligned to local social work and community planning boundaries. -
