For Immediate Release Contacts: Aaron Sickman (651) 602-6009 Monday, June 24, 2019 Megan Kogut (651) 312-3439 Emily Yang (651) 602-6034 MINNESOTA WILD AGREES TO TERMS WITH DEFENSEMAN BRAD HUNT ON A TWO-YEAR CONTRACT SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Paul Fenton today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has agreed to terms with defenseman Brad Hunt on a two-year, $1.4 million contract. Hunt, 30 (8/24/88), recorded 12 points (5-7=12) and eight penalty minutes (PM) in 42 games with the Vegas Golden Knights and Minnesota Wild during the 2018-19 season. He set career highs in goals, power-play goals (4), game-winning goals (1) and recorded eight (4-4=8) of his 12 points on the power play. The 5-foot-9, 187- pound native of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, tallied five points (3-2=5) including three power-play goals in 29 games with the Wild after being acquired along with a sixth-round selection in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft from the Golden Knights in exchange for a fifth-round selection in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft on Jan. 21, 2019. Hunt tallied seven points (2-5=7) in 13 games with Vegas. He owns 39 points (10-29=39), including 23 power play points (8-15=23) in 128 career NHL contests over six seasons with Edmonton, St. Louis, Nashville, Vegas and Minnesota (2013-19). Hunt has also collected 209 points (57-152=209) in 287 career AHL games (2011-2017). The left-shot defenseman played four seasons at Bemidji State University, totaling 112 points (24-88=112) in 150 games (2008-12). The Coquitlam Express is a Jr. A hockey club located in the city of Coquitlam, British Columbia. Coquitlam is located 20 kilometers east of downtown Vancouver. We compete in the BCHL, which has the distinction of being Canada’s top Jr. A league in the Canadian Junior “A” Hockey League. The club entered the BCHL in 2001, and after 4 successful seasons which saw the team begin their climb to the top ranks in the BCHL, the team moved to Burnaby while the City of Coquitlam renovated our home arena, the Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. The 1st season in Burnaby was a banner year for the franchise. The Express won the 2006 RBC Cup and became National Jr. “A” Champions. Assistant Captain, Kyle Turris, was selected 3rd overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, making him the highest Jr. A player ever selected. In 2010, Coquitlam’s team returned home to a beautifully renovated Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex and in 2014 we captured the BCHL Championship.
