ROW HEATH ELECTORAL DIVISION PROFILE 2021 This Division comprises The Rows Ward in its entirety plus parts of Lakenheath, Kentford & Moulton, Manor and Risby Wards www.suffolkobservatory.info 2 © Crown copyright and database rights 2021 Ordnance Survey 100023395 CONTENTS ▪ Demographic Profile: Age & Ethnicity ▪ Economy and Labour Market ▪ Schools & NEET ▪ Index of Multiple Deprivation ▪ Health ▪ Crime & Community Safety ▪ Additional Information ▪ Data Sources ELECTORAL DIVISION PROFILES: AN INTRODUCTION These profiles have been produced to support elected members, constituents and other interested parties in understanding the demographic, economic, social and educational profile of their neighbourhoods. We have used the latest data available at the time of publication. Much more data is available from national and local sources than is captured here, but it is hoped that the profile will be a useful starting point for discussion, where local knowledge and experience can be used to flesh out and illuminate the information presented here. The profile can be used to help look at some fundamental questions e.g. • Does the age profile of the population match or differ from the national profile? • Is there evidence of the ageing profile of the county in all the wards in the Division or just some? • How diverse is the community in terms of ethnicity? • What is the impact of deprivation on families and residents? • Does there seem to be a link between deprivation and school performance? • What is the breakdown of employment sectors in the area? • Is it a relatively healthy area compared to the rest of the district or county? • What sort of crime is prevalent in the community? A vast amount of additional data is available on the Suffolk Observatory www.suffolkobservatory.info The Suffolk Observatory is a free online resource that contains all Suffolk’s vital statistics; it is the one-stop-shop for information and intelligence about Suffolk. -

Given the recent significant investment in the town, we predict that over the next 2 years Government will want to showcase the projects. In local context, we need to emphasise that the two bridges being built in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft respectively, are not in competition but will work collaboratively, complimenting each Peter 2 other. This is significant investment in our region to improve transport links. As result, there is a Aldous MP wider local business and social benefit - work is being undertaken in terms of procurement through Meet the Buyer events. -

A Guide to the Government for BIA Members
A guide to the Government for BIA members Correct as of 26 June 2020 This is a briefing for BIA members on the Government led by Boris Johnson and key ministerial appointments for our sector after the December 2019 General Election and February 2020 Cabinet reshuffle. Following the Conservative Party’s compelling victory, the Government now holds a majority of 80 seats in the House of Commons. The life sciences sector is high on the Government’s agenda and Boris Johnson has pledged to make the UK “the leading global hub for life sciences after Brexit”. With its strong majority, the Government has the power to enact the policies supportive of the sector in the Conservatives 2019 Manifesto. All in all, this indicates a positive outlook for life sciences during this Government’s tenure. Contents: Ministerial and policy maker positions in the new Government relevant to the life sciences sector .......................................................................................... 2 Ministers and policy maker profiles................................................................................................................................................................................................ 7 Ministerial and policy maker positions in the new Government relevant to the life sciences sector* *Please note that this guide only covers ministers and responsibilities relevant to the life sciences and will be updated as further roles and responsibilities are announced. February 2019 Newsletter
for Issue Feb 2019 Connecting Communities ince becoming leader of Suffolk County Council, I have continued to keep broadband at the top of my agenda. I am pleased to tell you that the Better Broadband for Suffolk program has Sreached a new milestone, 93% of homes and businesses across Suffolk can now upgrade to a Superfast Broadband service. This is fantastic news and means an overwhelming majority of residents, businesses and organisations can now enjoy the benefits of faster and more reliable internet speeds. But as a resident and a councillor of a rural ward where some premises still do not enjoy these benefits, I know we have further to go. We already have a contract in place for Openreach to extend fibre broadband coverage to 98% of all Suffolk premises by 2020. But even beyond this, we are committed to reaching 100% Superfast Broadband coverage in Suffolk as quickly as possible. So, if you haven’t already done so, check if Superfast Broadband is available where you live by following the simple steps below, but don’t forget, even if broadband is available, you will need to upgrade your connection to enjoy the benefits of the higher speeds. I look forward to updating you on our future progress. Cllr. Matthew Hicks Leader of Suffolk County Council and Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Infrastructure Here are three simple steps to upgrade Step 1 Finding out whether Better Broadband is available to your postcode Visit our website at www.betterbroadbandsuffolk.com/upgrade-now. Just having the ability to connect doesn’t mean you automatically have Superfast Broadband. -
