Hjalmarsson spent four seasons in the desert after winning three Stanley Cups with the Chicago Blackhawks. His best season with Arizona was in 2018-19 when he played in all 82 games with a +8 rating, 10 assists and 44 penalty minutes. At 34 years old, the native of Sweden also had a decorated international career, winning the silver medal in the 2014 Olympics in Sochi and a bronze medal in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2005 NHL Draft by the Blackhawks and debuted in the NHL in the 2007-08 season. His best season offensively was in 2013-14 when he scored four goals and tallied 22 assists with Chicago. He ends his 14-year career with 25 goals, 147 assists, 172 total points and +106 overall. Arizona Sports LOADED: 07.26.2021 1218532 Arizona Coyotes Arizona Coyotes select 5 players during rounds 4-7 of 2021 NHL Draft BY SAM GRAVELINE JULY 24, 2021 AT 8:15 PM The 2021 NHL Draft has officially wrapped up and the Arizona Coyotes welcomed eight new players into its system. The Coyotes made a splash trading into the first round Friday to select Dylan Guenther with the No. 9 overall pick. Starting day two of the draft Saturday, Arizona had three second-round selections. The team selected forward Josh Doan — son of former Coyotes captain Shane Doan — with the No. 37 overall pick, then followed with selecting forward Ilya Fedotov with the No. 43 overall pick and defenseman Janis Jerome-Moser with the No. 60 pick. With no third-round selection, the Coyotes had five picks from rounds four to seven: Round 4, Pick 107: D Emil Martinsen Lilleberg – Norway The 6-foot-2, 207-pound defenseman represented Norway in 2021 IIHF World Championship, where he scored one goal in six games. Lilleberg was also the captain of Team Norway during the 2019-20 World Junior Championships. Round 4, Pick 122: G Rasmus Korhonen – Finland The lone goaltender drafted by the Coyotes posted a 2.18 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. Korhonen was ranked No. 7 amongst European goalies by NHL Central Scouting. Round 5, Pick 139: F Manix Landry – Gatineau Olympiques, QMJHL The Salt Lake City native registered 23 points while serving as captain of Gatineau this season. Over three seasons in the QMJHL, Landry tallied 29 goals and 44 assists. Round 6, Pick 171: D Cal Thomas – Sioux Falls, USHL After scoring 26 points during high school season, Thomas played in nine games for Sioux Falls, registering one goal and an assist. He’s committed to play his college hockey at Vermont. Round 7, Pick 223: F Sam Lipkin – Chicago Steel, USHL The Coyotes traded back into the last round of the draft, sending a 2022 seventh-round pick acquired from the St. Louis Blues to the Montreal Canadiens. The 6-foot-3, 196-pound forward finished 2020-21 with three goals and eight assists in 30 games with the Steel. He also had one goal and one assist in eight postseason contests to help Chicago win the USHL’s Clark Cup. Arizona Sports LOADED: 07.26.2021 1218533 Boston Bruins do that but as we’ve seen so many times, these talks are very fluid and that could change before free agency begins on Wednesday. CAROLINA HURRICANES NEWS CLIPPINGS • June 24, 2021 NHL Mock Draft 2021: From the Sabres through the Cup winner, Corey Pronman picks the entire first round By Corey Pronman The message out of Columbus is they need centers but once Seth Jones is dealt they will need centers and defensemen. We’re a month from Buffalo being on the clock so it’s time to Edvinsson, Hughes and McTavish are the names people start discussing how I think the first round of the 2021 NHL around the league think could be the pick at No. 5 with Draft will actually go. This mock will be 31 picks deep and Edvinsson being the one I’ve heard mentioned the most. there will be a longer one closer to the draft date. 6. Detroit Red Wings: Mason McTavish, C, Peterborough- This mock is less “intel” based, given a lot of teams haven’t OHL had meetings yet to put together their lists. The mock will discuss certain picks and how they blend with that specific McTavish is the name I’ve heard the most with Detroit early team, but readers should also use this exercise to get an in the mock draft season but team sources have also said idea of roughly what players I think will go at what range, and they think goalie Jesper Wallstedt or Michigan forward Kent what options their team could be looking at. This is not my Johnson could be the pick here too. An interesting thing with opinion of the players in the draft class. Those along with full this pick is both Johnson and William Eklund face questions reports can be found here.

  • Turnbull Hockey Pool For
Turnbull Hockey Pool for Each year, Turnbull students participate in several fundraising initiatives, which we promote as a way to develop a sense of community, leadership and social responsibility within the students. Last year's grade 7 and 8 students put forth a great deal of effort campaigning friends and family members to join Turnbull's annual NHL hockey pool, raising a total of $1750 for a charity of their choice (the United Way). This year's group has decided to run the hockey pool for the benefit of Help Lesotho, an international development organization working in the AIDS-ravaged country of Lesotho in southern Africa. From www.helplesotho.org "Help Lesotho’s programs foster hope and motivation in those who are most in need: orphans, vulnerable children, at-risk youth and grandmothers. Our work targets root causes and community priorities, including literacy, youth leadership training, school twinning, child sponsorship and gender programming. Help Lesotho is an effective, sustainable organization that is working at the grass-roots level to support the next generation of leaders in Lesotho." Your participation in this year's NHL hockey pool is very much appreciated. We believe it will provide students and their friends and families an opportunity to have fun together while giving back to their community by raising awareness and funds for a great cause. • Maurice Changes Lines at Jets Practice
Winnipeg Free Press https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/hockey/jets/maurice-changes-lines-at-jets-practice- 473698153.html Maurice changes lines at Jets practice By: Mike Sawatzky The Winnipeg Jets may have the NHL's best home record but there's a price to be paid for all that success. "When you're higher in the standings, and we're close to first, you're going to get teams pretty geared up to play you when they come in," said veteran Jets defenceman Ben Chiarot following practice at Bell MTS Place Saturday afternoon. "This is a tough building to play in and when you put where we are in the standings on top of that, teams are going to come out hard. If we're off one night or sleeping to start, we're going to be off on the wrong foot. "And St. Louis was pretty jacked up to play us." The Jets, mostly outplayed by the Blues in a 5-2 loss to St. Louis Friday night, will have another chance to defend home ice Sunday afternoon (2 p.m., TSN3, TSN 1290) when the New York Rangers make their lone visit of the 2017-18 season. Winnipeg was 20-4-2 at home and tied for top spot in the Central Division while the Rangers were three points out of a wild-card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference heading into Saturday's action. On Thursday, Rangers GM Jeff Gorton sent shockwaves through the league when he announced the club was entering a rebuilding phase and warned the club's fans that a sell-off of major assets was probable prior to the Feb.
