Samarthanam was able to touch the highest financial records in the last one year and I am thankful for the united efforts of supporters, sponsors, donors, Government and Samarthanam team. With your support we look forward to continuing to deliver our services to the society. This quarter, a few of our ventures and projects have come to a completion and we are very proud to have launched them alongside people who have been instrumental in making them possible. Samarthanam Bhavan is our second Barrier-free construction, next to Samarthanam School. Strengthening our vision of building an inclusive society, our sponsors have majorly backed us in the making of an accessible facility for the disabled and the elderly. Thank you Morgan Stanley, and other corporate supporters for helping us in presenting a specialized facility for our beneficiaries. Cricket for the Blind is one of our primary interventions, and this quarter, the Nagesh Trophy and the National Blind Cricket Conclave, both supported by IndusInd Bank, were the two big events organized by CABI and Samarthanam. The State teams gathered to play the National Blind Cricket Tournament and it proved to be an exciting experience for the players and audience. Congratulations to the winners and participants for a beautiful game of cricket after long. The National Conclave was the next big event which laid the stage for discussions, ideas, collaborations, and future plans for blind cricket. While various other projects were being implemented like Tab distribution for higher education students and LRC trainees, Digitalization of public schools, regular classes at school and skilling centres, Samarthanam’s efforts at supporting the COVID affected sectors is also actively progressing. It has been nearly more than one year since India and the world has been hit by the COVID pandemic. It has been a tough life with many alternations, adaptations, and changes in our everyday routine. With the active vaccination campaigns being run by the Government, we are very positive that this will be the end of COVID. We will still have to follow the rules of social distancing, use of sanitizers and masks, despite being vaccinated. Samarthanam, as a responsible organization working towards societal welfare, kept its COVID Relief Campaign active all through the year. Dry ration, PPE, Health kits, RtPCR, Masks, Sanitizers, and other med- ical needs were given away to people who were in dire need of them. I profusely thank our supporters who helped us in carrying out our relief programmes across the country. It would not have been possible on our own. I would like to thank my amazing team whose dedication and hard work is taking Samarthanam in the right direction. Thank you. 3 HAPPENINGS at Samarthanam SAMARTHANAM INAUGURATES A SECOND ACCESSIBLE FACILITY, THE SAMARTHANAM BHAVAN Dissolving barriers and fostering accessibility, Samarthanam Trust paved way to the making of a Specialized Facility for people with disabilities and the elderly, named Samarthanam Bhavan. Much like the UN, the ICC brings representatives from all cricket-playing countries together to make administrative decisions about the future of cricket. Unlike the UN, however, not all countries have an equal input; the ICC decides which members are worthy of “Test” status (Full Members), and which are not (Associate Members). While the Council has experienced many successes, including hosting the prestigious World Cup and promoting cricket at a grassroots level, it also continues to receive its fair share of criticism, predominantly regarding the ICC’s perceived obstruction of the growth of the game within non- traditionally cricketing nations and prioritizing the commercialization of the sport over globalizing it.
