LAST GAME: PRESEASON ROUNDUP The New Jersey Devils concluded 2017 preseason action with a 5-1-1 record, last season NJD was 3-5-0 in exhibition action. Drew Stafford and Nico Hischier led all Devils' players with both scoring four goals, three assists for seven points in four games. Marcus Johansson led the Devils with five assists (6pts) over four games. Stefan Noesen and each had nine penalty minutes. Cory Schneider and Keith Kinkaid led the way in net for New Jersey. KRAFT HOCKEYVILLE The Devils took a commanding 8-1 victory over the in 's 2017 in Prince Edward Island. The Devils battled the Sens and took a 4-0 lead during the first 10:21 of action. Pavel Zacha, Drew Stafford and John Quenneville each had two goals during the match. 26 Club

The Devils will officially retire Patrik Elias' no. 26 jersey on Feb. 24 when the Devils host the NY Islanders at The Rock. Elias will become the fifth player in franchise history to have his retired. His name and number will join no. 4 Scott Stevens, no. 3 , no. 27 Scott Niedermayer and no. 30 . He will become the first European-born player in Devils' history to have his number retired. Elias won two Stanley Cups with New Jersey in 2000 and 2003. He had the famous, backhand, assist to 's cup-clinching OT goal to win the 2000 Stanley Cup. After 18 seasons, playing only for New Jersey, he ranks first all-time in club history with 408 goals, 617 assists, 1025 points among many more offensive categories.

A NEW LOOK The Devils have altered their iconic red, black and white jerseys for the first time since changing from their original red, green and white 'Retro' sweaters in the 1992-93 season. New Jersey was one of several NHL clubs to change their look after the league switched to adidas ADIZERO jerseys starting with this season. One significant difference can be seen on the inside of the collar, which is colored green with "95" "00" and "03" written on the inside, commemorating the Devils' championship pedigree and winning tradition. The esteemed and historical "NJ" logo remained unchanged. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!

This afternoon, the Devils and unveil the largest, in-arena, center-hung scoreboard in the world. At 88,401 pounds, 9,584.9 square feet and almost four stories tall, the massive scoreboard contains 29,610,024 SMD pixels.

NEW FRIENDS The Devils have two new affiliates after the announced a one-year affiliation agreement with the New Jersey and to become their official ECHL affiliate. The Devils, through parent company Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), has become the first NHL franchise to form a strategic partnership with an NWHL team. The Devils and Riveters announced on Oct. 5 that the club's have collaborated in an effort to grow the NWHL and increase the development and visibility of girls' and women's hockey in New Jersey and across the Metro-area. As part of their alliance, the Devils and Riveters will have a unique NWHL-NHL doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 28. Prudential Center will be the site of the Riveters’ season opener against the Pride at 1:30 p.m., followed by the Devils hosting the at 7:00 p.m. WELCOME BACK, CHICO! On Wednesday, Oct. 5, the Devils announced that former goaltender and fan favorite Glenn "Chico" Resch will serve New Jersey as a radio analyst and team ambassador for the 2017-18 season. Resch will join, the veteran play-by-play voice Matt Loughlin for Devils coverage on WFAN-FM/AM and The One Jersey Network via WFAN.com. Resch will also participate at community relations and corporate events, youth clinics, and in grassroots initiatives on behalf of the club.

AVS CONTINUE SEASON-OPENING ROAD TRIP IN NEW JERSEY AFTER OPENING NIGHT WIN AT MSG The Colorado Avalanche continues their season-opening, three-game road trip this afternoon in New Jersey against the Devils. The Avs opened the trip with a 4-2 victory over the Rangers on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden. This three-game trip concludes with a Columbus Day matinee in Boston on Monday. The last time the Avalanche opened with three straight on the road was back in 2000-01, when they began the year with a four-game road trip. This year marks just the third time in the last 12 years that Colorado has started the season away from home (also 2012-13 and 2014-15). The Avs are beginning their 22nd season in Denver and their 38th campaign as a franchise (including 16 years at the Nordiques).

DAY-DREAM BELIEVER Today is the first of 12 afternoon games for the Avalanche this season, the club's most daytime tilts since 2008-09 (also 12). The Avalanche will play in a Columbus Day matchup against the Bruins in Boston on Monday, the fourth time in the last eight years that Colorado has participated in that afternoon contest. The Avs are scheduled for seven home afternoon games this season, equaling the most in Avalanche history (also 1998-99 and 2002-03).

AVS & DEVILS Today is the first of two meetings between the Avalanche and Devils this season, and Colorado's only visit to the Prudential Center. SWEDEN BOUND The Avalanche’s 2017-18 schedule is highlighted by the 2017 SAP NHL Global Series, which features a pair of regular-season games against the Ottawa Senators in Stockholm, , on Friday, Nov. 10, and Saturday, Nov. 11. Colorado is making its second trip to Europe and its international regular-season debut. The Avs were part of the 2001 NHL Challenge Series™, and as defending Stanley Cup champions defeated Brynas IF of the Swedish Elite League by a score of 5-3 thanks to ’s hat trick.
