ARCHERY - TARGET majority of athletes were in the 30-49 age group.

For several of these younger competitors this was not only their first Pan Pacs but also their first time in any sort of sporting competition.

Tim Millis, 38, had not been involved with archery until he had the opportunity to have a go late last year while on a family holiday in Fiji.

Millis said he enjoyed it so much his wife bought him a gift certificate, which he used in January for a beginner’s course and had continued with archery since.

“I liked the fact that you can actually compete against yourself all the time,” he said.

“It appeals to a sense of being able to perfect something and keep that going every single time.
