Center For Family Services (CFS) has a long history of working with families like Chiquita’s…families in crisis, parents unable to provide basic necessities for their children, and young moms starting a family without ever having had the role models or parenting supports they needed to succeed. Last year, CFS worked with the State of New Jersey to combine two important prevention and intervention programs in an eff ort to provide a more comprehensive service for low-income, at-risk moms like Chiquita.

Th rough this newly combined initiative, clients benefi t from both a national model program, Healthy Families, and the TANF Initiative for Parents (TIP) program. By bringing these two programs together, families can get the help they need most, either in their homes, in the community, or both. Th is helps to ensure a mom can access the resources she needs to create a better life for herself and her children. For moms like Chiquita, it is oft en this service and support that changes their life.
