Queensland shines at Australian Tourism Awards

Queensland tourism operators took home 14 Australian Tourism Awards from the official ceremony held in Canberra last Friday night, with a total of five gold, four silver and five bronze awards across a range of categories including Major Tour and Transport Operator, Festivals and Events (for the Groundwater Country Music Festival, pictured), Business Event Venues, Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries and New Tourism Business.

Businesses must excel in an exhaustive review of their business across strategic planning, marketing, environmental sustainability, innovation and customer service, and bringing home so many trophies at a national level demonstrates the extraordinary calibre of Queensland's tourism experiences. Congratulations to all winners!

In another win for the state, Queensland will host the 2020 Australian Tourism Awards for the first time in close to a decade on the Sunshine Coast in February next year.
