The Hon. Tim Fischer AC, former deputy prime minister of Australia and ex-ambassador of Australia to the Holy See, presented the book. This second volume of Fr O’Collins’ autobiography tells the story of over thirty years of teaching at the Gregorian University (Rome), a story peopled with students, professors, visitors, saints, and popes. In his reply to Mr Fischer, Fr O’Collins shared some of the excitement, drama, and achievements of life at a legendary Roman university. The Master of CTC, Very Rev. Assoc. Prof. Shane Mackinlay, chaired the launch with his customary friendly elegance. Sympathy and PrayersPrayersPrayers Mgr. Tony Ireland’s mother, Elizabeth, died on Sunday 26 August. Using NVivoNVivoNVivo Software for Research on the Prayer of Cancer Patients Recently a CTC PhD candidate, Greg Brown, presented an invited eSeminar on his research work. It was described as “Great and fascinating”, “excellent”, “really useful” and “stimulating”. The presentation was titled The Storytelling Nature of Cancer Patients. The focus was on the use of QSR’s NVivo software and demonstrated the analytical process that led to pastorally significant conclusions on the contribution of the prayer of cancer patients to their well-being. It also revealed a link between a certain quality of listening to the patient’s story and healing. The audience was international with 741 registrants. The seminar is available on YouTube and can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtgxqRtkcUM. SRC BBQSRC BBQ The SRC held its second semester BBQ 10 September.
