OPENING SPEAKER TREY BROWN

BIOGRAPHY

Trey Brown is the 14-year-old founder and CEO of SPERGO®, a trendsetting streetwear and lifestyle brand headquartered in Philadelphia, PA.

At 12 years old, Trey became increasingly aware of the violence that plagued his community. He wanted to do something to encourage his peers to stay out of trouble and follow their dreams instead. That year, he used his leftover birthday money to purchase 16 T-shirts. He sold out in one week.

Trey quickly realized that he could use his love of design and passion for the community to create a clothing brand that not only looked good but one that would inspire youth all over the world. SPERGO ocially launched on Martin Luther King Day in 2018.

Trey’s message of courage and strength caught on like wild re. His signature armation and motivational videos reached more than 20K people in just one year and now national brands and media outlets are taking notice.

In just 24 months, Trey has sold almost 10,000 units of merchandise, secured several wholesale deals and has grossed more than $40K in sales for several months in a row. Celebrities like Meek Mill, Tierra Whack, Da Baby, Sean Combs, Eric Thomas, Shaquil O’Neil, Charles Barkley, and Ed Mylett can be found sporting SPERGO gear or encouraging the young mogul on social media.

Trey has become a sought after youth speaker having spoken to dozens of kids at Banneker High School, C.E, King High School, The Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia, Rowan University, Mastery Charter School, Delaware Youth Summit, Holland Elementary School, and the Forget Me Knot Youth Shelter. In April 2019, Trey was taped to be part of investment management rm Invesco’s latest advertising campaign which airs on CNN and was featured on a billboard in Times Square. He was also recently recognized by Philadelphia Councilman Kenyatta Johnson for his community work and received a key to the city.

In his free time, Trey is completing the 8th grade and giving back to his community. Trey often contributes to back to school drives, visits sick children, feeds the less fortunate and serves in hometown church.

BIOGRAPHY

Nathaniel (Nate) Grin was born in Newport News, VA to a passionate preacher (Elder Ronald Grin Sr.) and a worshipping psalmist (Pamela Grin). Along with his three siblings, he resided in the Denbigh area of the city of Newport News where he attended Denbigh High School. Nate grew up loving, and playing football. His agility and punishing hits were witnessed by many on the football eld of Denbigh High School, skills which assisted in propelling him to Marshall University. In May 2005, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in counseling. After graduation, Nathaniel pursued a promising career in Professional football, operating as a free agent in the NFL and Canadian Football League. The passion and drive that he showed on the football eld as an oensive lineman pales in comparison to his God given drive and zeal for ministry. In October 2010, he married the lovely Ebony Elijah. Ebony, a native of Florida, holds a Bachelor’s degree from Howard University and a Master’s Degree in Education from . She presently serves as an administrator in the public school system. Nate and Ebony, along with their son (Matthieu) and daughter (NeheMiah), reside in the area of . Nate, a 2012 graduate of Regent University, was awarded a Masters of Divinity degree with a concentration in Practical Theology. He currently serves in ministry as the Lead Pastor of Chosen for Completion Ministries in Portsmouth, VA. Chosen for Completion is a Non-Denominational Christ Centered Ministry focused on being “the hands and feet of Christ” in neighborhoods, communities, work places, homes, and in everyday living. Aectionately known as “C4C”, this dynamic ministry exists to Seek the Lost, Strengthen the Body, and Show love to ALL…especially those who are convinced they do not deserve it.

Nate serves on numerous boards throughout his community and beyond. He has had the honor of speaking for numerous Business Seminars/Conferences, Mens Conferences, Racial Reconciliation Conferences, Leadership Conferences, and more. He is very intentional in exercising his ability to communicate eectively with all people. Most recently, this gift has enabled him the opportunity to share on an International Stage (700 Club & International Week of Prayer); communicating “How to Find Hope and Peace in the Midst of Chaos”. Nate’s love of Jesus Christ can be heard in his Spoken Word, Motivational Speaking, and inspiring sermons!

Whether speaking to businesses, universities, congregations, TBN, or on the street corner; Nate shares the Gospel message of love, deliverance, reconciliation, and power. BIOGRAPHY

Rashad Cartwright is an entrepreneur, preacher and international speaker. He is the founder and pastor of Experience Life Church. A Christian church located in Hampton, Virginia, that strives to create a place of worship where all God’s people can experience the love of Christ. In April 2016, he was called to pastor Little Piney Grove Baptist Church, the oldest African American Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Rashad was educated through the School of Liberal Arts at Hampton University with a major in English and received his Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.

In November, 2014, Rashad was invited by the NAACP (Ferguson, MO. & St. Louis, MO. branch) to serve as the keynote speaker for their annual convention which partnered to help raise funds for the family of Michael Brown. (an 18-year-old African-American man, who was fatally shot by Darren Wilson, 28, a white Ferguson police ocer.) While in Ferguson, Rashad led several community development initiatives to help bring unity and direction to the city of Ferguson, MO.

On September 23, 2016, William Sessoms, Mayor of Virginia Beach, VA declared September 23 Rev. Rashad D.L. Cartwright Day.

Rashad is President of Cartwright Consulting Group, LLC., a creative design rm based in Hampton Roads, Virginia who specialize in consulting and designing engaging brands, identities, graphic design and website design.

Rashad’s contributions have been highlighted in Ebony, USA Today, and The Source. His company, Cartwright Consulting Group, LLC and AmericaPreachers.com has appeared on CNN.com, BET.com, Essence.com, GlobalGrind.com, and his nation-wide internet-based talk show has interviewed leaders such as Dr. Cornel West, Dr. Gardner C. Taylor, and Bishop T.D. Jakes.

Rashard J. Wright has provided empowering educational leadership for almost two decades. Proven and recognized for building successful academic settings quickly and eciently, Rashard’s name is acknowledged throughout the state of Virginia and beyond as an accomplished academic, public speaker, teacher leader, and mentor for principal supervisors, principals and assistant principals.

Rashard is currently the Chief of Sta for Newport News Public Schools, appointed in July of 2018. Wright previously served as the Chief Schools Ocer with Virginia Beach City Public Schools. An accomplished academic leader, Wright is known for inspiring leaders and championing rigorous school support plans which result in full accreditation for all schools. He has also designed leadership development and succession planning models for aspiring and existing school administrators.

Prior to almost four years with Virginia Beach City Public Schools, Rashard was the Executive Director of K-12 Schools and Leadership Development for the Isle of Wight County School District in Smith eld, VA. His experience entails ten years as a supervisor of principals and other leadership sta and many years as a middle and high school principal.

Wright takes his roles and responsibilities to serve the leaders, teachers, and children personally. He has an eortless coaching style that has an immediate impact on future leaders. He is the recipient of the 2014 Marcus Foster National Distinguished Educator Award for his vison work in the area of change leadership and leadership succession planning.
