Cub Scouts is a year-round and home-centered program that develops ethical decision-making skills for boys in the first through fifth grade. Activities emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.

Boy Scouting is a year-round program for boys 11 through 17 designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster.

Venturing is a year-round program for young men and women who are 14 through 20 years of age to provide positive experiences through exciting and meaningful youth-run activities that help them pursue their special interests, grow by teaching others, and develop leadership skills.

Learning for Life features grade-appropriate, Exploring gives youth a real-world, hands-on theme-oriented lesson plans to be used in career experience. 2,694 Cub Scouts went to one of many camps offered on the camping menu. Family Camp, Mom and Me, Tiger Day Camp, and Webelos long term camp are just a few of the camps offered.

CUB SCOUTS have the opportunity to utilize one of two Three Harbors Council camps, Indian Mound Scout Reservation in nearby Oconomowoc and Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta in Burlington. While the boys enjoy the idea of swimming and shooting a bow and bb gun, parents like that their son is learning life skills, gaining confidence, building lifelong friendships... and having fun outdoors.

Three Harbors Council also supports camps in local parks like Wilson Park and Kletzsch Park. This effort has helped bring an outdoor experience to Scouts in their own backyard. • the opportunity to discover oneself and the world outside • to experience nature first-hand • the world outside or away from video games and texting Boy Scout Camping In Boy Scouts, imagination is the limit. Three Harbors Council hosts week-long camping at two premiere Northwoods camps, LeFeber Northwoods Camps and R.S. Lyle Scout Reservation. At camp, the boys learn leadership skills, survival skills and how to do the dishes.

825 Boy Scouts camped at Lefeber Northwoods Camps or R.S. Lyle Scout Reservation. This is not including all of the high adventure outings and trips to other camps.

But that is just the beginning. Scouting is youth led. Scouts can plan to sleep under the stars in a shelter they built, sleep overnight in the Milwaukee County Zoo, or go across the country and sleep on an aircraft carrier.

Boy Scouts and Venturers also have the opportunity to visit a national camp: Florida Sea Base, Philmont or the Northern Tier.

Scouts learn how to camp and hike without leaving a trace and how to take care of the land. Every year, Scouts embark on outdoor adventure and come home with amazing camping stories and more. The real story lies in the value of preparing young men to achieve their full potential for happy and productive lives. a•chieve•ment Advancement Scouts embark on an achievement trail throughout their Scouting career that instills character, teaches practical skills, encourages physical fitness and develops a spirit of community service. Multicultural Scouting Multicultural Scouting is a traditional Scouting program for young people in the central city and economically challenged areas of the Three Harbors Council. Multi-cultural Scouting services youth through non-traditional methods, which help overcome obstacles found in central city environments.

894 Cub Scouts went to camp from the Multicultural Scouting Program. Some of these Scouts had their first outdoor camp experience including an obstacle course, hiking and swatting mosquitos.

40 Boy Scouts in the Multicultural Program attended Lefeber Northwoods Camps. Part of the process included a "practice" camping trip before the real adventure began. All 40 survived! Learning for Life Character Camp

More than 3,000 boys and girls attended a day camp experience called Character Camp in 2012 at Indian Mound Scout Reservation. As part of the Learning for Life curriculum, students had the opportunity to put into practice the character values they've learned in the classroom throughout the school year including , fair play and citizenship.

Venturing Venturers earn achievements while acquiring skills in the areas of high adventure, outdoor, sports, arts and hobbies, religious life or Sea Scouting. Venturing gives young adults challenging, exciting adventures like scuba diving, cycling tours, climbing, shooting sports and community service. The program also features life skills like leadership development, public speaking, interviewing and mentoring. ser•vice Community Service Scouts take an oath to “help other people at all times.” Through service, Scouts learn to be a part of something bigger than them. As they grow they will start planning their own service projects – accomplishing great things like building war memorials or organizing citywide book drives. Whether it is raking leaves, singing carols at a nursing home or or putting flags on soldiers tombs, Scouts never expect a reward or even a thank you. Camp Ammon This camp located inside of the Wisconsin State Fair includes Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Venturers and Explorers. The campers usher at grandstand shows, and serve as guides and messengers. They greet fairgoers who enter the Wisconsin State Fair and at some of the information booths. They also read stories to fairgoers’ children at the Book Bus; help lead children’s events like the State Fair Mascot Challenge; comfort and assist children at the Lost and Found, and serve as the Color Guard for the daily State Fair Parade. In total, Camp Ammon provides nearly 4,000 service hours during its 12 days of operation.

Scouting for Food

In 2012, over 203,000 lbs. of food were collected in the annual Scouting For Food council campaign.

Three Harbors Council partners with local food pantries in Kenosha and Racine counties and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin helps deliver the food to pantries in Milwaukee County. • the act of helpful assistance • friendly acts to those in need Eagle Projects The Eagle Scout Service Project is the opportunity for a Scout to demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit of any religious institution, any school, or his community. The project may not benefit the or its councils, districts, units or camps. It also cannot be of a commercial nature or be solely a fund-raising project.

There were more than 30,000 hours spent on Eagle Scout projects by more than 3,500 Scouts and leaders. This does not include other service projects that Scouts do also. Projects conducted in 2012 included: • Held a multicultural event including a concert of traditional to honor various ethnicities and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. • Repaired & painted storage rooms for food & clothing. • Built a 60-foot footbridge at a nature center. • Built a bio swale/safety buffer. • Refurbished a playground. • Remodeled a home on the lot of a church. • Built 10 picnic bench tables for the local little league baseball park. 2012 Three Harbors Council Eagle Class George Ismail Ademi Kenneth Paul Ewert Francis Joseph Klein Bryce Alexander Rutkiewicz Brendan John Andrews Daniel John Farrenkopf John Bernard Kloser John Noel Sandgren David Michael Anich Shaun T.
