Peter knows that Nick wants money, it’s an issue that constantly arises between them. Xander and Kasper head to the country to stay with Dolly and Kingsley. Dolly plans an impromptu dinner party, inviting Peter and Nick also. The night provides Peter the opportunity to have a moment with Kitty. She confesses to him that she regrets turning him down. They kiss and it’s fantastic. Short Synopsis Anna doesn’t like Xander keeping tabs on her, Skeet receives news that shocks him, Dolly arranges the worst dinner party ever but it does allow Peter and Kitty to meet again.

    Marriageability and Indigenous Representation in the White Mainstream Media in Australia PhD Thesis 2007 Andrew King BA (Hons) Supervisor: Associate Professor Alan McKee Creative Industries, Queensland University of Technology Abstract By means of a historical analysis of representations, this thesis argues that an increasing sexualisation of Indigenous personalities in popular culture contributes to the reconciliation of non-Indigenous and Indigenous Australia. It considers how sexualised images and narratives of Indigenous people, as they are produced across a range of film, television, advertising, sport and pornographic texts, are connected to a broader politics of liberty and justice in the present postmodern and postcolonial context. By addressing this objective the thesis will identify and evaluate the significance of ‘banal’ or everyday representations of Aboriginal sexuality, which may range from advertising images of kissing, television soap episodes of weddings, sultry film romances through to more evocatively oiled-up representations of the pin- up-calendar variety. Being scheduled for broadcast concurrently with the R v A trial, Underbelly raised concerns about the judicial process, namely the rights of the accused to a fair trial, free from external interference. I am not aware, nor was the Victorian judiciary, of the scheduling of any other television crime mini-series which had coincided with a trial. Melbournians were frequently subjected to the real events of the capital city’s gangland war which were widely reported in various newspapers, and which were broadcast on television, radio and the internet where viewers were confronted with gruesome images of victims. Capitalising on the popularity of such news stories were numerous books such as Big Shots (Shand, 2007a), Leadbelly (Silvester and Rule, 2004) and Underbelly (Silvester and Rule, 2008), still in print at the time of Underbelly’s broadcast and available to Victorians even when the series was banned. The news items and books informed the public about the controversial lives of those who chose to live outside societal norms.
