SACRE and School Improvement: Appendix 1: Examination data…………………….………………………………… Appendix 2: Diversity in Christianity ……………………………………………… Appendix 3: SACRE Membership and attendance for the year 2016/2017…… 2 Learning and growing through challenging RE Foreword from the Chair of SACRE September 2017 - July 2018 As with any organisation it is the inspiration given by the members that provides the character. I shall focus on some of the creativity we have valued in Bucks SACRE this year both from our members and during our visits to schools. In addition, we receive wise counsel from our Education Officer at Bucks CC, Katherine Wells and our RE Adviser Bill Moore. At our meeting in October we learned that Suma Din our Muslim deputy had become a school governor and would no longer fulfil her role with SACRE. However, her legacy to us is her book published by the Institute of Education Press entitled ‘Muslim Mothers and their children’s schooling.’ See SACRED 7, for a review. (For this and all other references to SACRED see the website at the end of this section). In her contribution to SACRED 6 Suma wrote; From the Qur’an, I understand my role as being a ‘steward’ on this earth; one who will take care, take responsibility and hand on a legacy to those who come after them.

Schools www.nicholashare.co.uk 3 Barnsbury Square London N1 1JL Telephone 020 7619 1670 Fax 020 7619 1671 Nicholas Hare Architects was formed in 1977. The practice became a Limited Liability Partnership in 2004. At present we are 73 people, 62 of whom are architects, handling a wide range of projects. Most of our commissions have come through recommendations from previous clients, though the practice’s reputation has been enhanced by success in architectural competitions for public buildings. The strength of the practice stems from its combination of en- ergy and inventiveness with a professional sense of responsibility to clients. The commitment to excellence and thoroughness in design is matched by the importance attached to the efficient and cost-conscious running of contracts: we have a wide experience of working with traditional forms of contract as well as with management contracts, construction management and 2-stage collaborative contracts. We have a history of achieving good value for our clients, through attention to detail and the pursuit of good quality and low maintenance, particularly in the building envelope: many of the buildings designed by the practice have cost much less than their quality would suggest. Our service responds to the needs of clients, ranging from complete building projects including project management to strategic planning and consultancy. Our record of satisfied cli- ents and second and third commissions is testimony to the care devoted to understanding and responding to the real needs of our clients, as well as producing buildings which give pleasure to those who use them. We would like to thank the hundreds of staff and volunteers whose time, energy and passion made Feast of Fun possible. Without you we would not be able to provide support to hundreds of local children and families who struggle during the long summer holidays. We would also like to thank all the parents, children and volunteers who kindly took time to be interviewed, giving us valuable insights into the need for holiday provision and the difference it makes. This year saw more businesses and organisations partner with Feast of Fun than ever before. We would especially like to thank Quorn Foods, the North York Moors National Park Centre at Danby, the Bowes Museum, MIMA, the National Literacy Trust, Kids Kabin, Middlesbrough College, Middlesbrough Environment City, and Northern Rail. Thanks also go to Middlesbrough Council Financial Inclusion Group, Meals and More and the Ballinger Charitable Trust, for the funding provided to support the programme. We are also indebted to the many churches and individuals who gave donations and organised fundraising activities to support Feast of Fun. The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is the admissions authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools in the borough, and sets the admissions criteria for these schools. The borough has a duty to determine the arrangements for 2018/19 by 28 February 2017. There are no proposed changes to the admission arrangements from the current arrangements 2. The Local Authority also has a statutory duty to formulate a scheme to co- ordinate admission arrangements for all publicly funded schools within their area for phase transfer, e.g. primary to secondary school. This report recommends a revision to section 6 of the co-ordinated admissions scheme to ensure it is compatible with the schemes adopted by neighbouring authorities regarding the allocation of school places from the waiting list. This will mean that following the initial allocation of school places, late applications will be added to the waiting list before further offers are made. 3. It is recommended that a similar variation is made to the co-ordinated admissions scheme for 2017/18, which was determined on 15 March 2016. 1. DETAILS OF RECOMMENDATION(S) RECOMMENDATION: That Cabinet notes the report and: i) Approves and thereby determines, the admissions arrangements for 2018/19 by the 28 February 2017 national deadline.
