Cia-Cia Language: from the Era of Oral to the Era of Writing HUMANIORA VOLUME 24 NO.30ktober2012 Halaman 324-332 CIA-CIA LANGUAGE: FROM THE ERA OF ORAL TO THE ERA OF WRITING Cho, Tae-Young* ABSTRAK Tufisan ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan latar belakang penerimaan dan penggunaan Hangeul (sistem tufisan KDrea) di masyarakat penutur bahasa Cia-Cia sebagai sistem tufisan mereka yang dimulai pelaksanaannya pada bulan Jufi 2009. Peristiwa ini sangat mengagetkan, baik se/uruh masyarakat Indonesia maupun negara-negara tetangga karena aksara Latin sedang memegang peranan kuat dalam penggunaan aksara dise/uruh dunia peda zaman ini. Dari sisi yang lain, yakni aspek sejarah perkembangan aksara di dunia ini yang berjalan dalam proses peminjaman dan penyesuaian aksara secara berulang terus membuktikan bahwa suatusistem tufisan (selain Latin) juga dopat digunakan dalam masyarakat bahasa yang lain peda abad ke-21. Seperti sejumlah besar masyarakat bahasa minaritas, masyarakat bahasa Cia-Cia punbe/um pernah memilild sistem tufisan tersendiri sehingga bahasanya tidak pernah sekafi pun ditufiskan dengan aksara apapun. Penl/fisan Hangeul dalam bahasa Cia-Cia dimulai dengan maksud untukme/estarikan bahasa minaritas. This study1 investigates the motives behind the adoption of Hangeul, the Korean alphabet, by the Cia-Cia ethnic group in Baubau, Sulawesi, Indonesia. The import of Hangeul exemplifies how Indonesian peripheries have tried to form their own regions as distinctive entities against the nation. Their attempts to do so expand beyond the nation in hopes of emerging as new centres in a decentralised Indonesia, in which new power dynamics can be negotiated. This ethnic group, with a population of approximately 60,000, lives primarily in the Buton district and the nearby islands; however, one-third of the ethnic group now resides in Baubau.2 This export of Hangeul was initiated by the Hunmin Jeongeum Society,3 a scholarly association consisting of several linguists in Korea. For the past decade, this association has attempted to export Hangeul to a number of remote areas in countries such as China, Nepal and Thailand.

The Butonese compose the largest group of migrants to the Moluccas. This article research does not put ethnicity into a fixed, classified group of a population; rather, the research explores ethnicity as a living category in which individuals within ethnic groups also have opportunities for social mobility and who struggle for citizenship. The Butonese have a long history of being considered ―subaltern citizens‖ or have frequently been an excluded community in post-colonial societies. They lack rights to land ownership and bureaucratic access. This article argues that Indonesian democracy has bred opposition between indigenous and migrant groups because, after the Reformation Era, migrants, as a minority, began to participate in popular politics to express themselves and make up their rights as ―citizens‖. Under the condition of democratic political participation, the Butonese found a way to mobilize their collective identity in order to claim the benefits of various governmental programs. Thus, this paper is about the contentiousness of how the rural Butonese migrants gained advantageous social and political status in the aftermath of the sectarian conflict between 1999 to 2003.

MARPLES Kabaena is a satellite island of mainland Sulawesi, located off the south-east peninsula. Despite the relatively extensive surveys on the nearby larger islands of Buton and Muna, Kabaena has remained ornithologically neglected. Researchers visited the island several times between 1999 and 2016 to collect data for avian biogeographic research. Data collection between 1999 and 2003 focused mainly on mist-netting small passerines. The 2016 expedition focused on transect surveys, allowing for a wider assessment of the island’s avifauna. During these visits all bird species encountered were recorded, providing the first scientific assessment of the avifauna of Kabaena. In total 89 species were recorded, of which 27 are regional endemics, three are classified as Near Threatened and one as Endangered. Penjelajahan bangsa Eropa atau bangsa yang dihembus angin barat hingga ke negeri-negeri di belahan timur jauh seakan menjadi awal dari upaya penemuan timur dan didefinisikan dengan cara barat. Timur seakan lahir dengan takdir yang digariskan oleh bangsa barat. Negeri-negeri barat yang mengklaim dirinya sebagai tempat meretasnya sains, seakan memiliki kuasa untuk mendefinisikan yang lain dengan caranya sendiri. Sejarah kemudian bergerak maju sehingga catatan sejarah peradaban manusia tidak lebih dari upaya menaklukan alam dan menjelajah hingga batas terjauh. Manusia berupaya menemukan ragam kebudayaan manusia yang eksotis serta hasil alam yang kaya untuk dibisikkan kepada penjelajah lain di dunia barat. Eksotisme dan resource menjadi tembang yang didengungkan bangsa barat demi menjangkau dunia timur. Bersamaan dengan itu, berbagai ekspedisi dirancang demi memuaskan hasrat keingintahuan dan mimpi kesejahteraan. Sains lahir dalam situasi yang penuh hasrat penaklukan. Ketika manusia menancapkan eksistensinya sebagai pusat semesta sebagaimana kalimat Rene Descartes berbunyi cogito ergo sum2, maka pada saat bersamaan manusia mulai berhasrat mengalahkan alam dan manusia lainnya. 1 Edward Said (1935-2003) adalah penulis Amerika kelahiran Palestina yang mengkritik pedas cara yang digunakan orang barat dalam menampilkan bangsa lainnya khususnya Arab. Said lahir di Yerusalem dari keluarga penganut Kristen, kemudian menamatkan pendidikan di Harvard University. Bukunya Orientalism mendiskusikan sikap intelektual barat terhadap timur, khususnya timur jauh. To date, a total of 50 mammal species, 139 bird species, 60 herpetofauna species, 46 freshwater fish species, 184 butterfly species and 223 tree species have been detected in the study area. - This diversity is remarkably representative of species assemblages across Sulawesi as a whole, given the size of the study area. Buton comprises only around 3% of the total land area of the Sulawesi sub- region, but 62% of terrestrial birds, 42% of snakes and 33% of butterflies known to occur in the region have been found here. - Faunal groups in the forests of Buton also display high incidence of endemism; 83% of native non- volant mammals,

The purpose of this study is to calculate the influence of the development of district roads to the development of the Regency area in Muna and analyze the road segments that become the main priority to be handled in Muna Regency. The type of data needed is secondary data. In this study, the population is the total length of the district road and the variables are: composite index of development, population, handling constraints, length of road handling, accessibility index and mobility index. The results obtained that the method of equation between composite index development on accessibility indicators in a region is: Y = 88,72푋0,132 with R2 = 0.692.
