Hamid Hashemi is the founder, President and CEO of iPic Entertainment. Mr. Hashemi has over 30 years of experience owning and operating entertainment venues, having successfully developed and launched three companies involved in motion picture exhibition.
In 2006, Mr. Hashemi founded iPic Theaters to pursue his vision of creating social destinations anchored by theaters and restaurants, making the luxury screening room moviegoing experience available and affordable to the general population. iPic Entertainment additionally owns Tuck Hospitality Group, which operates standalone restaurants under four separate brands: Tanzy, an artisanal Italian concept; City Perch Kitchen + Bar, a social, seasonal American dining destination featuring locally sourced ingredients; The Tuck Room, a spirited, drinking and dining den with a whimsical atmosphere, along with LA’s The Tuck Room Tavern, a jovial neighborhood dining and drinking and den offering craveable American cuisine.
Mr. Hashemi presently serves on the Board of Trustees at Pine Crest Preparatory School in Fort Lauderdale. He is also a current member of World Presidents’ Organization and has made television appearances on shows including The Today Show, CNN, Neil Cavuto, CNBC’s Squawk on the Street, Fox Network, and Wall Street Week.
Paul Westra | CFO | iPic Entertainment
Paul Westra is the Chief Financial Officer for iPic Entertainment. Mr. Westra has spent over 20 years as a sell- side analyst covering the restaurant industry, best known for his unique strategic vision of the industry as well as for his proprietary valuation methodology. Prior to joining the iPic team, Mr. Westra served as a Managing Director at Stifel Financial. He has been frequently quoted by leading new sources such as Bloomberg, Barron’s and Forbes – providing commentary on the restaurant industry’s competitive landscape and forecasting trends that impact operations and financial returns.
Over the years, Paul has amassed practical restaurant executive experience having worked for an information technology company focused on the foodservice industry as well as from co-founding two New York City restaurants, Phebe’s and Dylan Prime. In 2015, he was credited with prompting the restaurant industry’s shift toward the “LOHAS movement”, which emphasizes farm-to-fork dining, quality ingredients and sustainability at the core of its mission—a practice that has been employed across all iPic restaurant concepts nationwide. Mr. Westra earned his Master’s in Business Administration degree from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree from the University of Massachusetts. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
Sherry Yard | COO | iPic Entertainment
Brooklyn-born Sherry Yard, Chief Operating Officer of iPic Entertainment, is an accomplished chef and restaurateur who spent her extensive career making a mark as a disruptor in the hospitality industry. Her innovative approach has garnered her three James Beard Awards and a lifetime induction into their Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America. Yard gained momentum early in her career, honing and expanding her skills at the Rainbow Room, followed by an appointment as Executive Partner within Wolfgang Puck’s empire for nearly 20 years. Her fresh from the farm desserts became staples at events such as the Academy Awards Governor’s Ball, the Grammy Awards and the Emmy Awards.
She has since garnered numerous accolades, receiving recognition from renowned publications such asBon Appetit, Food Arts Magazine and more, along with authoring two successful cookbooks and landing her own segment on the iPic- produced editorial pre-show iPic Now. A sought-out national television personality, Yard has served as both a guest judge and a contestant on shows like Iron Chef, Cutthroat Kitchen All-Star Sabotage, The Next Food Network Star, Cake Wars, and Christmas Cookie Challenge, amongst others.
