Meet The Judges Lisa Schroeder Minneapolis, MN Lisa is from Minnesota where she grew up dancing at her mother’s studio. She continued her training attending multiple conventions and workshops across the country. Lisa graduated with a B.A. degree in dance from the University of Minnesota, where she was a member of the URepCo dance company, and was also a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves Reebok Performance Team. She has been teaching and choreographing over the past 30 years, with numerous choreography and top score awards. Lisa was the founder/director/teacher of Spotlight Productions Dance Studio in MN, and just this summer sold her studio to concentrate on Judging and sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with dancers around the country. Her studio has been honored with many prestigious awards: Top Ten Studio at FCD 2011; Top Five Studio at FDC 2012; Numerous Top Studio awards at regional and national competitions; Nominated at the Industry Dance Awards for 3 consecutive years; Had 4 performances nominated for World’s in Dallas TX 2011, winning best Senior Small Group category, coming in 2nd overall and won Masquerade’s 2016 Studio of the Year. Lisa is excited to be Judging with Masquerade and can’t wait to see each performer’s hard work, passion, and love for dance onstage! Good Luck Dancers!! Angie Olson Rosemount, Minnesota Angie is the owner of JAMM Dance Co. She is a choreographer, performer and teacher, well versed in all styles of dance. She has had the pleasure of teaching dance to children and adults of all ages and abilities for the past 20 years. Angie began her dance training at a local studio at age 8. Her love of teaching dance ignited at the age of 12 when she was given the opportunity to assist her dance teachers with the younger students at the studio she attended. In that moment, the dream of opening her own dance studio was born. Angie was the founder and director of the Grove school of dance for the City of Inver Grove Heights from 2001-2006, ending the 2006 season with Just over 200 students. In 2006, JAMM Dance Co. opened it’s doors in the town of Rosemount, MN where she grew up. JAMM Dance Co. began its humble beginnings in a one studio space with two teachers. Ten years later, the studio has expanded to a new location with three studios, 10 faculty members and 10 student teachers. JAMM Dance Co. has been regionally and nationally recognized for their training and choreography. Angie is proud of the studio environment she has created. Her favorite part of her Job is watching her students grow not only as dancers, but as people. Angie focuses on holding the JAMM students to high expectations, while encouraging them and empowering them through opportunities that help them live their dreams. Liz Ernst Overland Park, Kansas Liz Ernst holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance, and a Masters of Fine Arts in Dance. Liz has performed professionally as an industrial dancer, commercial dancer in numerous musicals throughout the U.S. There probably isn't a musical she hasn't either been in or choreographed. She spent a couple years in Branson, MO dancing at various theaters & theme parks. Besides performing, Liz has been an Assistant Professor of Dance at K-State, on dance faculty at University of Iowa, Dance Chair for a performing arts high school, and taught at such dance intensives as: Ailey Camps, American College Dance Festival, Midwest Dance Alliance, The Tap Festival to name a few. She has also written dance curriculum for Edison Charter schools. Teaching and choreography are her true passion. Liz has spent the past 25 years fine tuning the art of teaching dance, and still learns something new each week!     CampusMONDAY, MARCH 8, 2021 / VOLUME 148, ISSUE 2 Times SERVING THE UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER COMMUNITY SINCE 1873 / campustimes.org URAC Holds Protest During Mangelsdorf Event, Demands Action By Henry Litzky and Haven Worley PHOTO EDITOR and NEWS EDITOR On Thursday, the UR Abolition Coalition (URAC) staged a protest at the in-person Casual Conversa- tions with President Mangelsdorf event. During the event, students repeated their de- mands for changes to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to Mangelsdorf directly. This move follows last semester’s overnight occu- pation of the DPS parking lot where URAC protes- tors voiced their demands to University President Sarah Manglesdorf and DPS chief Mark Fischer, who promised further discussion. “[President Manglesdorf] had promised us that night [...] that she would be starting to actually have progress with this mental health task force to institute Daniel’s [Law] on campus, and ensure that cops [...] and campus police do not respond to mental health calls on this campus,” URAC orga- nizer and senior Antoinette Nguyen said. “Howev- er, there’s been no update regarding that.” The protest began at the steps of Rush Rhees Li- brary, where many of their actions have started in the past. At around 4:30 p.m., organizers went over the plans to the group of roughly 30 people around the steps.
