Look at Maximus as the best Live Mix Tape you’ve ever heard. A band that prides itself on playing great songs that people want to hear. The live set consists of select cover songs along with a dash of original tunes by Chad Wagner and Matt Lloyd that the masses are sure to enjoy. The Band: Chad Wagner: Vocals, R. Guitar, Acoustic Guitar A native of Iowa, Chad began his career playing drums and singing in high school bands. After recording various studio projects and collaborating with other musicians it was clear that music was his one true passion. Chad ditched the drums to concentrate on his voice and has fronted several Midwest bands including The Clique, Retroactive, Sativa and Little Big Man. Chad’s voice has earned him hundreds of gigs including sharing the stage with Capitol recording artist I Mother Earth, Puddle of Mudd and Grand Funk Railroad. Sativa was a featured artist on Perris Records Volume One as well as the Kansas City compilation Inferno Records Rock Collection Vol. 4. Chad is always writing and recording new songs and has his sights on placing some of his creations in the hands of other performers and film. Matt Lloyd: L. Guitar, Mandolin, Vocals Brought up on rock and blues, Matt honed his style in the blues bars and jam nights of Kansas City. His high school band Sweet Relish played blues covers in many of the city’s best blues joints. Following in the footsteps of fellow veterans Elvis Presley and Jimi Hendrix, Matt joined the Army and was stationed in Georgia. It was here he was introduced to bluegrass music, which inspired him to pick up the mandolin. Now out of the Army and recently into songwriting, Matt is free to pursue his musical goals. Chuck Hays: Drums, Vocals Chuck began playing drums in 1983 and was playing gigs by 1984 at age 15. Metal was in his veins from 85-87 and during that time Chuck also worked as a roadie (because the metal band didn’t work much). Wanting more drum work, he started to travel with a Top-40 band playing the Mid-west hotel circuit. Chuck began to pick up studio work during that time which is where he mastered his time keeping skills. Chuck is now the pulse behind Maximus. David Ramsey: Bass Dave’s bass playing has been heard in the Kansas City area for years. He has played with various solo artists ranging from metal to jazz. Lately you might have seen Dave in Retroactive and Teacher’z Pet..
