For Immediate Release YOTA Swimmer Ross Noble Selected for Scottish National Youth Squad RALEIGH NC, September 2, 2020: Ross Noble, who swims for YOTA (YMCA of the Triangle Area), was selected by the Scottish Swimming Association to represent Scotland on their 2020-2021 National Youth Squad. Ross is a dual citizen of the USA and the UK. Team Scotland has a significant presence on the international stage, led by swimmers Duncan Scott, Hannah Miley and Mark Szaranek. Scotland competes independently in competitions such as the Commonwealth Games, but joins Team UK for the Olympics and World Championships. About his selection, Ross said “I’m proud to be Scottish, so I’m excited to represent Scotland and compete on an international level.” His coach Jamie Bloom adds “We’re delighted that Ross will have this opportunity. Ross constantly challenges himself in practice and continues to develop his technique and speed. We’re confident he’ll grow as a swimmer as he competes internationally, and we expect him to swim fast for Team Scotland.” Noble, a Scholastic All American (2019-2020), specializes in backstroke and IM. He is a Summer Juniors qualifier who ranks #10 in the USA for the 100 and 200 Backstroke (15-year-old Males). In national YMCA Swimming, he was #1 in the 100 Back and 400 IM (Men Age 15). In 2019, he was the NCS Open Water 3K Champion as well as an NCS All Star (100 and 200 Back, 200 and 400 IM, 200 and 500 Free, 200 Fly). His 2019 LCM performance in the 200 IM earned him an invitation to USA Swimming’s Southern Zone Select Camp 2020. -
