CROSSING POINTS - Snapshot: April 2021

Civilian movement across the “contact line” during April continued to be severely limited compared to pre-COVID-19 closure levels, with just 52,550 crossings recorded – down from 55,000 in March. The entry-exit crossing point (EECP) “” in Luhanska oblast continued to account for 96 per cent of all crossings, leaving residents of non-Government-controlled areas (NGCA) of Donetska oblast little opportunity to reach Government-controlled areas (GCA).

OPERATIONAL UPDATES ENTRY/EXIT CROSSING POINTS (EECPs) MAP KEY FIGURES RUSSIAN On 15 April, the EECP “Novotroitske” – the only operational crossing point in Donetska oblast – FEDERATION was reopened to allow humanitarian cargo movement after almost two months of closure due to Kyiv security concerns.¹ During April, three UN-organized humanitarian convoys reached NGCA of Donetska oblast, delivering over 100 MT of medical supplies/equipment, hygiene kits and ≈ construction materials for the conflict-affected population. Meanwhile, in Luhanska oblast, a 53k LUHANSKA ! Free-of-charge COVID-19 antigen tests (available since March) at the EECP “Stanytsia ‘Shchastia’ Luhanska” (Luhanska oblast) were reported to be insufficient to meet the demand reportedly due DONETSKA ‘’ to the lack of medical personnel to administer the tests and some technical difficulties, among GCA ! ≈ other reasons.
