TWENTY-THIRD DAY Hall of the House of Representatives, Columbus, Ohio Wednesday, March 6, 2019, 9:00 o'clock a.m. The House met pursuant to adjournment. Prayer was offered by Representative Ginter-5th district, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The following guests of the House of Representatives were recognized prior to the commencement of business: Joe Masarone, a guest of Representative Crossman-15th district. Members of the Capital University School of Law Veterans Student Association, guests of Representatives Miller, A.-17th district, Boggs-18th district, and Perales-73rd district. Rob Brokaw, John McGackey, Casey Coffey, and members of the New Lexington FFA Novice Parliamentary Procedure Team, guests of Speaker Householder-72nd district. Maleah Lee, a guest of Representative Manchester-84th district. Matt Hartline and members of the Waterford FFA Advanced Parliamentary Procedure Team, guests of Representative Jones-95th district. The journal of yesterday was read and approved.

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS The following bill was introduced: H. B. No. 123 - Representatives Holmes, G., Manning, G. To amend sections 3313.536, 3313.60, 3314.03, 3319.073, 3326.11, and 3328.24 and to enact sections 3301.221, 3301.23, 3313.669, 3313.6610, 3313.6611, and 3313.6612 of the Revised Code with regard to school security and youth suicide awareness education and training. Said bill was considered the first time.

In memory of Thomas M. Seese. WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 133rd General Assembly of Ohio are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Thomas M. Seese and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends; and WHEREAS, Tom Seese left an indelible impression on the people whose lives he touched, and he will be remembered as a spirited man who contributed immeasurably to the world around him. A trustee for Coventry Township for eight years, he was first elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 1987, and over the course of his four terms with the General Assembly of Ohio, he served on such committees as Commerce and Labor, Elections and Townships, Reference, Ways and Means, Human Resources, Public Utilities, Transportation and Urban Affairs, Veteran Affairs, and Education; and WHEREAS, Tom Seese’s regard for improving the quality of life in our society was clearly evident in his personal sacrifices of time and effort to his family, friends, and community. Giving generously of his energy and abilities in all of his endeavors, he displayed exceptional concern and insight, and his absence will be keenly felt; and WHEREAS, Tom Seese always used his talents to the benefit of others, and the laurels of his life stand as a tribute not only to him but also to those he left behind. Although the void his death has created can never be filled, the legacy of care and commitment he established will surely live on. RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 133rd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, express a profound sense of loss and sincere regret at the death of Thomas M. Seese and, in so doing, pay tribute to the memory of a truly unique public servant; and be it further RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Thomas M. Seese. The resolution was adopted. Representative Butler moved that the following resolution be brought up for immediate adoption, read by title only, and spread upon the pages of the journal.
