We’re Still Shining Bright

As we welcomed all students and faculty back to our campus on August 12th, Harrells Christian Academy looked quite different than it typically does on the first day of school. Masked faces, tem- perature checks, and social distancing created a scene that we are not used to seeing; however, the excitement and anticipation of reuniting as an HCA family was a very familiar and welcome feeling.

The summer of 2020 was spent working closely with the Board of Directors and other HCA ad- ministrators to figure out a plan for bringing our students back to campus as quickly and safely as possible. In such an uncertain time, we wanted to be a source of certainty for our students and their families. Many considerations had to be made and many “what if’s” had to be answered before we felt confident that we could allow students and teachers to return. While we have been able to put procedures in place and address many of the concerns associated with COVID 19, ultimately, we are trusting in the Lord to take care of us and guide us through the start of this school year.

Our theme verse for this school year comes from Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Just as HCA was able to continue shining and providing high-quality instruction when schools were forced to close in the spring, we know that our school ways physically, the love and support that we share as an HCA family will keep us close no matter will be a shining light in our community this school year. Our students will not be left behind aca- what. demically, nor will they be neglected emotionally. While social distance may keep us apart in many
