DUNKIRK SCORES ’S BEST OPENING WEEKEND,OPENING DAY AND MIDNIGHT BOX OFFICE IN IMAX THEATRES ACROSS CHINA The Film also sets highest three-day opening weekend in September for IMAX China

SHANGHAI-September 4, 2017- IMAX China Holding, Inc. (HKSE:1970) today announced that the epic action thriller Dunkirk, written and directed by Christopher Nolan, opened strongly on 441 IMAX® theaters in China on Sept. 1, grossing RMB 31 million which is the highest three-day opening weekend of a September title for IMAX China. The film surpassed 2014’s Interstellar to score new opening weekend, opening day and midnight IMAX box office records among all of Christopher Nolan’s films, with RMB 31 million, RMB 9.41 million and RMB 1.3 million, respectively.

IMAX represented nearly half of Dunkirk’s opening midnight show grosses in China. As of today, 16 of the top 20 locations in China for the film are IMAX. Dunkirk will continue to play in IMAX theatres across the country with increasing popularity and strong word-of-mouth on social platforms.
