THE CONTEST IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. 1) ELIGIBILITY: No purchase necessary to enter or to win. This Contest is open only to legal residents of the 48 contiguous United States and the District of Columbia, 18 years of age or older as of April 5, 2009. Employees of CBS Corporation and its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and anyone working directly with The Early Show (Sponsor” or “The Early Show”), and members of their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, spouses) and/or persons living in the same households as such persons, whether related or not, are ineligible to enter this Contest. Void where prohibited by law. 2) HOW TO ENTER: The Early Show NCAA® March Madness® Contest (“Contest”) will begin at 12 pm (Noon) Eastern Time (“ET”) on Monday, March 16, 2009 and end at 12 pm (Noon) ET on March 19, 2009 (“Promotion Period”). Contest is sponsored by The Early Show. To enter, go to www.earlyshow.cbsnews.com anytime during the Promotion Period and follow the link to the registration page for the Contest: (i) Accurately complete the information requested on the registration page (including your name, complete address including zip code, email address and phone number where you can be reach on Sunday April 5, 2009 beginning at 10 am ET); (ii) complete your on-line entry, including the name of The Early Show Anchor (Harry Smith, Julie Chen, Russ Mitchell, Maggie Rodriguez, Dave Price) and the point total that you have determined your selected Anchor will earn in his or her Brackets selections for each team that wins its match up through the Semi-Finals round in the NCAA Men‟s Division 1 College Basketball Tournament (each anchor will get two (2) points for each correct choice); (iii) hit “Submit”. One entry per person or email account. Entry deemed made by holder of email account. Any entry submitted subsequent to an entrant‟s first entry is void. An incomplete or corrupted entry is void. “Releasees” (as defined below) assume no responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate entry information, human error or technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures unauthorized access of any computer equipment or software, or any combination thereof. Entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these rules & consent to use of their names &/or photographs and/or voice for advertising or publicity purposes without further consideration, except where prohibited by law. 3) WINNER SELECTION & NOTIFICATION: The winner will be selected on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at approximately 10 am ET. The entrant whose entry includes (i) the anchor with the best performing brackets (the “Best Anchor”) AND (ii) the point total for the Best Anchor‟s brackets (“Best Anchor Point Total”) will be designated the “Potential Winner”. In the event more than one entry correctly selected both the Best Anchor and the Best Anchor Point Total, the Potential Winner will be chosen in a random drawing from among those tied entries. If there are no entries which correctly selected the Best Anchor and the Best Anchor Point Total, the Potential Winner will be chosen in a random drawing from among all entries which correctly selected the Best Anchor and Page 1 of 4 which were the closest (in either direction) to the actual Best Anchor Point Total. Selection of the Potential Winner and any random drawing that may be conducted will be done under the supervision of The Early Show staff, whose decisions are final on all matter relating to this Contest. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received with the Best Anchor and either the Best Anchor Point Total (or the point total closest to the Best Anchor Point Total). A member of The Early Show staff will attempt to contact the Potential Winner at the telephone number listed on the entry between 10 am ET and 11 am ET on April 5, 2009 (no message will be left and a total of three (3) attempts will be made). If the selected Potential Winner cannot be contacted by 11 am ET that Potential Winner will be disqualified and an alternate Potential Winner will be selected and attempts to contact such alternate Potential Winner will be made (using the procedure set forth above). Potential Winner notification may be recorded. Within one hour of contacting the Potential Winner, Sponsor will email the Potential Winner (at the email address specified in the entry or such other email address specified by the Potential Winner while on the contact call) an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release and, where legal, a Publicity Release (the “Releases”) and Potential Grand Prize winner will be required to execute and return the executed Releases (either by attaching a pdf to an email and emailing to the email address specified by Sponsor or by faxing the documents to the fax number designated by Sponsor). Executed Releases must be received within two hours following the time Sponsor emails such Releases to Potential Winner. Non-compliance with this time period or return of any e-mail or prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate Potential Winner. Prize may not be assigned, transferred, converted to cash or substituted. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize with a prize of comparable or greater value should a prize become unavailable. In order to be declared the Grand Prize winner (“Winner”), the Potential Winner (i) must be able to travel to Detroit on either Sunday, April 5, 2009 or Monday, April 6, 2009 in time to attend the Championship Game (as defined below) and (ii) timely execute and return the Releases 4) PRIZE: One (1) Grand Prize: A 3-Day/2-Night trip (or a 2-Day/1-Night trip, if Winner travels on Monday, April 6, 2009) to Detroit, Michigan, two(2) tickets to attend the Championship Game in the NCAA Men‟s Division 1 College Basketball Tournament (“Championship Game”). Prize consists of round-trip coach air transportation for Winner and guest to Detroit from a single major U.S. airport nearest the Winner's home, ground transportation from airport to hotel and hotel to the Championship Game and return, double occupancy hotel accommodations (one room, room and tax) for two (or one) night(s) at an hotel selected by Sponsor and two tickets to the Championship Game. Dates of travel are at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Because of the nature of the Grand Prize the Winner will receive less than twenty-four (24) hour notice prior to trip departure. If for any reason, the Winner cannot take the trip to be in Detroit in time to attend the Championship Game on April 6, 2009, the Grand Prize will be forfeited. If Winner resides within a 100 mile radius of Detroit, MI, ground transportation may be provided for Winner and guest in lieu of air transportation and no compensation or substitution will be provided for difference in prize value. Estimated retail value of the Grand Prize is $4,200. Actual value may vary based on place of departure and dates of travel. All other expenses relating to acceptance of the Grand Prize that are not explicitly stated herein, including but not limited to taxes, meals, beverages of any type and gratuities are the responsibility of Winner and guest. Specifics of travel package are subject to availability and at Sponsor's sole discretion. Complete terms and conditions of trip and procedure will be furnished with prize notification. Travel must be made through Sponsor's agent on a carrier of Sponsor's choice. Reservations are subject to availability. Travel restrictions, conditions of travel and blackout dates may apply. Prize may not be combined with any other offer and travel may not qualify for frequent flier miles. Winner and guest must travel on the same itinerary and are responsible for obtaining all travel documents e.g. acceptable photo ID. Failure of Winner and guest to obtain proper travel documentation may result in cancellation and loss of prize. Page 2 of 4 Guest of Winner must be at least eighteen 18 years of age or must have reached the age of majority in his or her state of residence as of date of travel and must complete, execute and return a Travel Companion Liability Release, and where lawful, a Travel Companion Publicity Release prior to issuance of travel documents. Failure to return Travel Companion Liability & Release Forms in a timely manner may prevent travel companion from participating in the trip. All details of prize not specified herein shall be determined solely by Sponsor. Prize is non-transferable; no substitutions or cash equivalent allowed, except at the discretion of the Sponsor in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. Taxes are the sole responsibility of the Winner. 5) GENERAL CONDITIONS: Contest entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these official rules. The laws of the United States govern this Contest. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Sponsor to use winner's name and likeness and/or voice for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law.
