FINANCIAL ACTION ITEMS

A. It is recommended that a contract between the West Genesee Central School District and the Onondaga-Cortland-Madison BOCES for the 2021-22 school year, in the amount of $22,500.00, representing rental of three (3) classrooms $15,000.00, and ancillary services $7,500.00, to house various BOCES special education school year programs in the District, be approved.

B. It is recommended that the Board of Education enter into an agreement with Upstate Cerebral Palsy, 125 Business Park Drive, Utica, NY 13502, to provide special education and/or related services for West Genesee students that may be placed in their care periodically during the 2021-22 school year, as stipulated.

C. It is recommended that the Board of Education enter into an agreement with Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired to provide vision therapy and occupational therapy services for a West Genesee student during the 2021-22 school year, as stipulated.

D. It is recommended that the agreement between West Genesee Central School District and Syracuse Time & Alarm, 2201 Burnet Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13206-2930, be approved as stipulated.

FINANCIAL ACTION ITEMS

E. It is recommended that the following resolution regarding a location agreement be approved:

WHEREAS, the School District has been contacted by Smarty Plants, Inc. to use the School property to film a movie; and

WHEREAS, the Board has determined that a certain portion of the real property owned by the District at 5201 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY 13031, as identified on the attached Facility Use Agreement and accompanying Certificate of Insurance (hereinafter “Premises”), is not currently needed for School District purposes; and

WHEREAS, the School District has negotiated terms of a Location Agreement with Smarty Plants, Inc, for the use of the Premises for seven (7) days to film the movie;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education of the West Genesee Central School District as follows:

1. The portions of the Premises identified on the Facility Use Agreement for the School property located at 5201 W. Genesee Street, Camillus, NY 13031, is not needed for School District purposes for the seven (7) days identified in the Location Agreement.

2. The Board hereby approves the terms and conditions of the proposed Location Agreement and the Board authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to execute the same in the form approved by legal counsel.

3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

F. It is recommended that the Travel Tracker Hosting Agreement between App Garden, LLC, P.O. Box 527, Newton, NC 28658, and West Genesee Central School District be approved effective 7/7/21, as stipulated.

G. It is recommended that the 2021-22 general fund budget transfers be approved, as stipulated.

H. It is recommended that the West Genesee Central School District contract Eric Larison, 4920 Beef Street, Syracuse, NY 13215, for Universal Per-Kindergarten consultation at a rate of $85.00 per hour, not to exceed $10,000, be approved as stipulated.

Capital Project Planning – Christine DeMass, along with Ken Coon, Kerry Tarolli and Erika Civitella from King + King Architects, and Lester Roberts from WatchDog, gave an update to the pre-referendum planning.

It is recommended that the following resolution regarding the stipulated abatement contract between West Genesee Central School District and Summit Environmental, 6075 Corporate Drive, East Syracuse, NY 13057, be approved.

WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the West Genesee Central School District (the “Board of Education”) solicited proposals for asbestos abatement work at the Split Rock Elementary School (the “Work”) required as part of its 2020 Energy Performance Project (the “Project”) under the authority of its Purchasing Regulations applicable when competitive bidding is not required (6700/6700-R Fiscal Management – Purchasing); and

WHEREAS, in consultation with King + King, LLP (“Project Architect”) and after review of the proposals received and the qualifications of the firms submitting proposals, the proposal dated June 4, 2021, by Summit Environmental was selected; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Education determines that it is in the best interest of the School District to accept the proposal by Summit Environmental and award a contract in the amount of $25,572 for the Work set forth in the proposal;

NOW THEREFORE, the Board of Education hereby resolves to award the following contract for the Work in conjunction with the Project:

This health insurance will be the same plan that is in effect for active employees, and the retiree must contribute either the active employee individual or family share of the plan.
