BRIEF SUMMARY Thimmapuram Quartz Mine has been mining for Quartz over an extent of 50.75 Ha in Sy. No. 29 of Thimmapuram Village, Padmanabham Mandal, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh, Since ‘1979. PROJECT PROPOSAL The proposed Mining is a manual open cast method employing shallow drilling and blasting activities. It is proposed to excavate Quartz mineral with a production capacity of 9000tonnes of ore will be produced in yearly average basis Mining Scheme was approved vide Lr. No. 4018/MS-VSP/2014 Dt: 02.02.2015 for the ensuring five years period i.e., 2014-15 to 2018-19 by Joint Director of Mines and Geology, Director of Mines and Geology, A.P EXECUTIVE SUMMARY M/s. Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited , of Vizianagaram District, applied for Mine Lease for Quartz Mining carried out by opencast method over an extent of 50.75 Hectares spread over in Survey Nos. 29 of Thimmapuram Village, Padmanabham Mandal, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh. The Mining plan was approved by the Department of Mines and Geology, Visakhapatnam to carry the Quartz mining over an extent of 50.75 Hecta res in Survey Nos. 29 of Thimmapuram Village, Padmanabham Mandal, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh for a period of 20 years, vide Govt. of A.P., The Mining lease deed was executed on 19-03-2008, vide Asst. Director of Mines & Geology, Visakhapatnam, vide proceedings No. 843/M/2002 dated 19-03-2002 and Sanction was 1 accorded to carry out the mining operations with effect from 19-03-2002 and it is in force from 09-02-1999 to 08-02-2019. The lease proposed to produce 9000 Tons of ore in average per year on an average in 300 working days from this area. Extent and Type of Lease Area: The area of the Mining Lease is 50.75 Ha. in Plot No: 29, of Thimmapuram Village. The entire lease area is occupied by hilly Porumboke (barren land) of Government of Andhra Pradesh. Present Land Use Pattern: The area is mainly used for mining of Quartz. The Quartz is exposed on the top portion of the hill. Shrubs and thorny bushes are completely occupying the remaining area. Where morrum is more Mango, Casurina and Cashew plantations are grown, in the downhill area. 2.
