Here, we combine the use of diferent network metrics to extract the particular signature of the F.C. Barcelona coached by Guardiola, which has been considered one of the best teams along football history. We have frst compared the network organization of Guardiola’s team with their opponents along one season of the Spanish national league, identifying those metrics with statistically signifcant diferences and relating them with the Guardiola’s game. Next, we have focused on the temporal nature of football passing networks and calculated the evolution of all network properties along a match, instead of considering their average. In this way, we are able to identify those network metrics that enhance the probability of scoring/receiving a goal, showing that not all teams behave in the same way and how the organization Guardiola’s F.C. -
Temporada 2000 / 2001

CIES Football Observatory Monthly Report n°37 - September 2018 Financial analysis of the transfer market in the big-5 leagues (2010-2018) Drs Raffaele Poli, Loïc Ravenel and Roger Besson 1. Introduction Since its creation in 2005, the CIES Football Observatory has been monitoring the transfer of players through information published by clubs and the media. This report analyses the paid transactions having taken place since 2010 involving teams from the five major European championships: the English Premier League, the Spanish Liga, the German Bundesliga, the Italian Serie A and the French Ligue 1. The first chapter studies from a historical per- spective the sums paid in transfer fees, while the second analyses the clubs and leagues having benefitted from these investments. The third chapter presents the financial balance sheets for both teams and leagues over the period stretching from 2010 to 2018. The figures published in this report include fixed transfer fees, eventual add-ons, as well as sums paid in the context of paying loans. The sums involved in the case of loans with an obligation to buy are included in the fig- ures for the year in which the agreement was concluded. Within the limits of the available information, the data on recipients take into account the resale percentages negotiated by former clubs. 1 Monthly Report 37 - Financial analysis of the transfer market in the big-5 leagues (2010-2018) 2. His intention was to sever all links to people associated with Lebanon’s Hezbollah after Gulf Arab states classified the Shiite Muslim organiza- tion as a terrorist group. Ahmed, a medical worker in his early 50s who declined to give his full name, is not alone. Anxiety and apprehension are unsettling many of the up to 400,000 Lebanese workers living in the Gulf after last month’s announcement by the Gulf Cooperation Council - Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. The rich states, where Lebanese have worked for generations, some achieving wealth and influ- ence, have threatened to imprison and expel anyone linked to the Iranian-allied group that fights in support of President Bashar Al-Assad in Syria’s civil war.
