Roade Parish Council
Roade Parish Council Roade Parish Council has an immediate vacancy for a Parish Clerk & RFO. Roade is a large village in South Northamptonshire with a current population of around 2,750; the current precept is £109,582. Situated 2 miles south of the M1 Junction 15, the village is located on the A508 between Northampton and Milton Keynes, with good public transport links including hourly bus services to both. The village is vibrant and growing; it is home to The Elizabeth Woodville Secondary School, Roade Primary School, Nurseries and Pre-schools, Medical Centre, Post Office, a popular village pub and a variety of shops and businesses as well as over 40 clubs and societies. For all of these reasons, South Northants Council designates the village as ‘one of the 4 most sustainable villages in South Northamptonshire’. By the end of this year, some 400 new homes will have been built in the village leading to an influx of new residents, many with young families. In response to the changing demands, a neighbourhood Development Plan has recently been completed and adopted by SNC following a 95% ‘yes’ vote at the village Referendum in June of this year. As a result of the housing development, the Parish Council receives very considerable s.106 and CIL income and the nearby Roade Wind Farm also provides an annual payment of circa £10,000 from its Community Fund. The Secretary of State for Transport is shortly to determine a Planning Application for a Strategic Rail Freight Interchange at M1 Junction 15. The proposal includes the provision of a by-pass for Roade, so there is the potential for further significant income.

And there, as one ex pupil remarked, we engaged in a bit of ‘Christmas Magic.’ Here we assembled and held a short service, with makeshift seats, lectern and choir stalls (for the by then a fairly ‘well- oiled choir!) made out of hay bales. And there, amidst the straw filled pens and with the cattle looking at us, we reminded ourselves in some small way of that first Christmas in a similar barn in Bethlehem two thousand years ago.

1 Annual Meeting Notes Notes for Members for use at Annual Parish Meetings 2019 A Great Place to Live South Northants District continues to be ranked as one of the better places to live in the country. Unemployment is one of the lowest in the country although SNC runs a job club to help anyone get back into work. The waste and recycling record is one of which we remain proud and is the best in the County. But lost among all of that we had a successful year as SNC, the Brackley Pool was opened, we had visit from HRH Prince Harry to Silverstone, we had a successful commemoration lunch to mark the 100th anniversary of the ending of WW1. We also held dinners to celebrate the sporting achievements of Mercedes Formula 1 team who won for the 5th successive year, and we celebrated the success of Brackley Town FC who won a fairy tale final at Wembley to bring on the FA Trophy. As we move forward with LGR we are holding regular Parish & Town Clerks Forums, with alternate Forums including PC Chairmen. Local Government Reform (LGR) The past year has been dominated by the events at NCC dealing with the fallout from it. As we began the new municipal year in 2018 NCC had just issued a Section 114 Notice, the local government equivalent of a bankruptcy notice. Max Caller had reported in his opinion Best Value was not being satisfied and that such was the mess at NCC it was not possible to recover this in a sensible time period and concluded that the best thing to do was to have two new unitary councils.

Access at The Silverstone Experience Information to help you plan your visit Access for everyone Silverstone Heritage Ltd, the charity behind The Silverstone Experience, is committed to ensuring it is as accessible as possible to all visitors. Our front of house staff receive training in disability awareness. If you have any queries, or need assistance, please ask. They will be happy to help you. Opening times During the summer season (mid-March to end October) we are open from 10am until 6pm. Last admission is at 4pm. Early Closing Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day – 4pm with last admission at 2pm We are closed 25 December. At major events – British Grand Prix, Moto GP, Silverstone Classic, British Superbikes, World Endurance Championship, British Touring Cars Championship visitors must have a ticket for the on track activity to purchase an admission to the Silverstone Experience. Opening hours on certain days during major events are 8am to 8pm with last admission at 6pm. There is no dedicated car parking at the Silverstone Experience during the main days of major events – visitors must park where directed on site by Silverstone Circuit event staff and walk or use shuttle buses. Travelling to Silverstone Visiting us by car Silverstone is conveniently situated right in the heart of the UK, approximately 90 minutes north of central London and 60 minutes south of Birmingham. Road access is exceptionally easy along the A43 dual carriageway from either the M40 or M1. We are based right at the entrance of the circuit in the big pink and green building.

2015/2016 Report to Parish Council Re: Deanshanger Village Heritage Society
Deanshanger Annual Parish meeting 22 April 2016 Report booklet Deanshanger Parish Council The parish council would like to thank the residents of Deanshanger for voting for them in the 2015 elections, it’s been a challenge as well as hard work, but though the learning curve is a steep one, the council is delivering results now and has plans for 2016 which will help the village. The parish council have maintained the same precept as 2014/15 which is excellent news to residents as there has been no increased costs. The Council have all finances and the records up to date to ensure the monies secured and held by the Parish Council are accountable and the use of funds is widely known. The council has the precept as well as some secured funds from development in the village. There is also the New Homes Bonus which groups of Deanshanger have access to apply to for funds. We have this year looked to work with the police to ensure we have issues facilitated and managed and worked with the police to maintain a safe environment. Also working with the police and the community to support Neighbourhood Watch and understand where we can support new initiatives such as street watch. The council has seen a lot of a change with new councillors, now up to capacity along with a new clerk. All of which has been exciting and challenging, to ensure that the running of the council is in order, up to standard and for everyone to understand the polices which sometimes have been challenging due to the amount of bureaucracy involved.
