Such a hot day in Kelowna (+21 already at 6am), yet 40 Kelowna Sunrise Rotary members and 2 guests showed up for a 7am breakfast meeting at the Kelowna Golf & Country Club to attend our final meeting or the Rotary 2014-15 year with President Greig McPhee presiding and District Governor Bruce Falkins - both are starting to relax already!

You were greeted by Gary Bowker, paid at the front desk to Tom Paterson and Carole Farley, led in singing by Dr Bob Wageman, and prayed for by Greig McPhee.

Our Club's award winners from the District Conference will be presented tomorrow night at the Installation Dinner. They are listed at the end of this newsletter.

After breakfast, President Greig welcomed the two visitors, who happen to be members-in-waiting Joanne Reynolds (guest of Bill Reynolds) and Brian Wrightson (guest of Sarah and Max Mosley). Both will be inducted Fri, July 3rd.

Paul Mulvihill gave thanks to all our wonderful club members for contributing their time and efforts into helping make the 2015 District 5060 Conference such a good event. Speaking of the Family of Rotary, his daughter Kelsey was the Kelowna- Mission Club's outbound exchange student in Denmark 1999- 2000 to a small town called Haderslev, Denmark. The RI speaker delegate Dan Espinoza from Philippines knew Haderslev as he led a GSE team there from his country and, it turned out, it was the same year Kelsey was there and she remembered him!

Were you a first timer to a district conference last weekend? If so, please get your name to Ken Spence ASAP so he can credit you back your portion of the $1200 that was allotted to paying for first time conference attendees.

Jim Hunter has contacted the care facility that Garry Ford lives at and they have agreed to provide a FREE breakfast for 10 people on Thu, July 9. An email has been sent out with details and you must let Jim know if you plan on attending so the numbers don't exceed our maximum.

Bill Reynolds received an email from past member Maria Reyes that he read aloud. She has been living in Regina for 10 months now, has joined a dragon boating team, and is off to Halifax for holidays. She is enjoying her job.

No Kerry Armit today so no Classification Talk.
