Media Release Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films
Media Release Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films’ Super 30 to release on 23rd Nov, 2018 Directed by Vikas Bahl, “Super 30” will star Hrithik Roshan Mumbai, November 4, 2017: Anil D. Ambani led Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films’ “Super 30” directed by Vikas Bahl and starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead role will release on 23rd November 2018. Super 30 is a story of a mathematics genius from a modest family in Bihar, Anand Kumar, who was told that only a king’s son can become a king. But he went on to prove how one poor man could create some of the world’s most genius minds. Anand Kumar’s training program is so effective that students post cracking IIT have gone on to become some of the most successful professionals. Many students trained under the Super 30 program have joined some of the top global companies like Adobe, Samsung Research Institute, Amazon etc. Anand Kumar said, “I trust Vikas Bahl with my life story and I believe that he will make a heartfelt film. I am a rooted guy so I feel some level of emotional quotient is required to live my life on screen. I have seen that in Hrithik – on and off screen. I have full faith in his capabilities.” Vikas Bahl, truly inspired by Anand Kumar’s initiative, said, “Super 30 is a story of the struggles of those genius kids who have one opportunity and how those 30 amongst thousands of others redefine success. The film will focus on the Super 30 program that Kumar started, which trains 30 IIT aspirants to crack its entrance test.” Vikas Bahl is one of the most critically and commercially acclaimed directors of our country. -
A Dynasty Returns to Rule Bihar
A Dynasty Returns to Rule Bihar Govind Bhattacharjee1 The Statesman November 24, 2015 With the resounding defeat of NDA in Bihar elections, the outraged feelings of secular liberals of our country have at last been assuaged. The talk of growing intolerance has disappeared almost overnight, and no more awards are being returned by the eminent recipients of various national awards. Just as the motor-mouths in BPJ have stopped issuing daily vitriolic statements condemning the slaughterers of gau- mata and their perceived sympathisers, the fervor of others in a matching tit-for-tat demonstration of the consumption of her meat in public also seems to have evaporated, reminding one of the Rubaiyat-I-Omar- Khayyam, ‘I came like water and like wind I go.’ We all can now breathe a great sigh of relief – India is no longer intolerant and communal. It has again become a benevolent, vibrant and secular democracy as it has always been. As Mr. Jay Panda, an MP from Odisha, wrote, perceptions do matter and it was no coincidence that the narrative of rising intolerance always seemed to peak around the elections, steered mostly by the non-vernacular media that is a safe sanctuary for our elites and liberals, despite the fact that on an average, two communal incidents had occurred per day during 2011-13 before NDA had come to power. Intolerance is perhaps embedded in Indian psyche since the beginning of time - what was the caste system but intolerance against humanity itself, against the very notion that all men are born equal? Many commentators had pointed out that one had never heard of so much talk about intolerance during the countless communal riots that had happened in this country since independence, during Sikh riots in 1984, Babri Masjid in 1992 or Godhra and Gujrat in 2002, even if we ignore the imposition of Emergency of 1977, and all that had followed in its wake including the compulsory sterilisation of Muslims, as a temporary aberration. -

70% Weight to Class 12 Marks in IIT Cutoff?
Page 1 of 9 eNewspaper Clippings June 24-25, 2010 TOI 70% weight to Class 12 marks in IIT cutoff? TIMES NEWS NETWORK New Delhi: In what may mark a major shift from the current scheme of admission to the country’s bluechip engineering institutions, an HRD ministry panel has recommended 70% weightage to class XII marks and 30% for performance in an aptitude test to be conducted more than once a year, for the IIT-Joint Entrance Examination. A cutoff list on the basis of the class XII result and the aptitude test will be prepared in the month of June every year and the top 40,000 will have to take an additional test for IITs. Over four lakh students now appear for IITJEE in a single test. The panel headed by Damodar Acharya, director of IIT Kharagpur, that gave its report to HRD minister Kapil Sibal on Wednesday, has also suggested that the aptitude test be an ongoing affair which students can take more than once. However, the best score in the aptitude test —which will have questions on reasoning, numerical ability and communication skills — should be taken into account. It is only the add-on test for the top students that will have questions on physics, mathematics and chemistry. However, the panel has put a restriction on the number of times the add-on test can be taken. Also, unlike the present system, students will have to indicate right at the beginning whether they are applying for the IITs or other institutes — like Indian Institute of Science Education & Research — whose admission test is also conducted through JEE. -

All Students of 'Super 30' Coaching Centre Crack IIT- JEE
All students of 'Super 30' coaching centre crack IIT- JEE hindustantimes.com /india-news/all-students-of-super-30-coaching-centre-crack-iit-jee/article1- 548886.aspx All 30 students of Super 30, a free coaching centre in Bihar, have cracked the highly competitive Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) for the third consecutive year, the institute announced Wednesday. Advertisement "We are really upbeat and celebrating the 100 per cent success for the third consecutive year as all 30 students have cracked the IIT-JEE this year," Anand Kumar, the institute's director-cum-founder, said. Super 30 that helps economically backward students crack the IIT-JEE has been selected by the Time magazine in the list of The Best of Asia 2010. The magazine, in its latest issue, said that every year, about 230,000 students take the exam for a seat in the IITs but only 5,000 grab it. "Last year, 30 of them came from one coaching centre in Patna, capital of the impoverished north Indian state of Bihar. That may not seem like many, but for the Super 30 centre it's a pass rate of 100 percent," it said. Mohammad Sadab Azam, a student of Super 30, said: "Thanks to Super 30, I cracked the IIT-JEE. Everyone is in a celebratory mood. We are happy." Azam, whose father works as a labourer in a village in Gaya district, said that he had never dreamt of cracking the prestigious exam. "It was all because of Super 30," he said. Anup Kumar, another Super 30 student, said the facilities and encouragement from the faculty made it possible for him to crack the tough exam. -
