Oliver Stewart Senior Executive, RAIB Relationship and Recommendation Handling Telephone 020 7282 3864 E-mail [email protected] 15 October 2020 Mr Andrew Hall Deputy Chief Inspector of Rail Accidents Cullen House Berkshire Copse Rd Aldershot Hampshire GU11 2HP Dear Andrew, RAIB Report: Fatal accident involving a train passenger at Twerton on 1 December 2018 I write to report1 on the consideration given and action taken in respect of the recommendations addressed to ORR in the above report, published on 16 October 2019. The annex to this letter provides details of actions taken in response to the recommendations and the status decided by ORR. The status of recommendations are as follows • Recommendation 1 - The table at paragraph 7 of Annex A summarises the status for each operator. • Recommendations 2 & 4 – ‘Progressing’. • Recommendation 3 – ‘Implemented’. ORR will advise RAIB when further information is available regarding actions being taken to address these recommendations. We will publish this response on the ORR website on 16 October 2020. All 4 recommendations were addressed to ORR when the report was published on 16 October 2019. 2. After considering the recommendations ORR passed recommendation 1 to all TOCs and charter operators; recommendation 2 to the 50 largest heritage operators; recommendation 3 to Great Western Railway; and recommendation 4 to RSSB asking them to consider and where appropriate act upon them and advise ORR of the conclusions reached. -

Issue 29 February 2009 Railtalk ISSN 1756 - 5030 Magazine “Its red Jim, but not as we know it” Welcome From The Editor Welcome to issue 29 of Railtalk Magazine, to start with I would like to thank everyone that has contributed in any way to this issue, and thank them for there support. If you haven’t noticed already then I’m sure you will do the more you read through the magazine, but there have been a few changes to the magazine the first is that magazine is now produced in a SWF format, as well as the regular PDF. Hopefully the new format will work well for everyone and that there will be no problems with text size or anything similar. But if there are any problems, the PDF version of the magazine is still available for download, and can be downloaded from the website. Also you should of noticed that each section now have a nice curve at the top of the page with the corresponding colour (example above). Now you know that, to the main part of the editorial, my thoughts on whats happened on the Railway Network this month. The Two biggies were the new DB Schenker livery (pictured left), and the first running of Tornado. I will start with the latter, the A1 loco group, have pulled off something that many people thought would be impossible, but I’ve got to say that everyone impression has changed, and that “Tornado” is the Class 59 206 speeds back home, after its unveiling of the new DB Schenker livery at the NRM, York. -
