Facilities: Access Transit Foundation repair/ Cooling Upgrades/ Accessibility Ramp project – details on project listed below. We have been monitoring building condition at 8805 Highway 11 on a regular basis – no issues have been identified. WINMAR has completed the restoration of the Access Transit Hall basement on May 14th, 2015. Meetings/Workshops/Training/Staff: Monthly Health and Safety meeting and workplace inspections completed. Completed Summer Student orientation and job specific training. G. Guppy attended the annual FENOM conference held in Sudbury on May 6 to 8, 2015. Ted McMeekin, Hon. Michael Gravelle, Hon. Bill Mauro, Hon. David Zimmer, Hon. David Orazietti, Hon. Steven Del Duca, Glenn Thibeault - Minister’s Forum Attended weekly meetings with Resolute to discuss the closure of the mill and all existing Town owned infrastructure on Resolute property. All Public Works employees completed Book 7/traffic control training on May 20 &21, 2015. G.Guppy attended NEOPWO meeting on May 13, 2015 to discuss the upcoming Truck Roadeo in Timmins. Public Works Crew meeting held on May 19, 2015 with all Staff from Public works and Water works. Roads Activities: Sweeping Town sidewalks, boulevards and streets. Ongoing pothole patching. Applied dust suppressant (Calcium Chloride) to rural roads and town lanes. Ongoing grading on all lanes and rural gravel roads. Washout repair on rural roads. Culvert repair on Mons St. Installed beaver screens and cones. Public Works completed 23 locate requests for storm sewer and streetlights. Excavation and Haulage for water break on Victoria rd. Tagged and removed equipment and supplies from Resolute. Estimated purchase amount for the removed equipment and supplies is $50,000. Installed fence posts and water line for the Community Garden. Overtime Summary: Roads Activities – 16.0 Hours Equipment Maintenance - 0.0 Hours Cemetery 17.0 hours Parks Activities: Ongoing Parks and Boulevard maintenance Litter pickup throughout the Municipality. Weeding flower beds, installing landscape fabric and red mulch. Installed Garbage containers around Town. Waste Management Activities: Site preparations for the re-installment of the bear fence at the east limits of the Landfill Site were completed on May 15th, 2015. The collection schedule for the removal of Recyclables from the Recycling bins has been changed from Monday to Friday afternoon once the collection of garbage is completed. Municipal staff have compiled data for the 2014 Annual Environmental Report for the Nellie Lake Landfill Site. (Required under Section 29 of Certificate of Approval No. A580301). Pinchin Ltd. has completed the report before the June 1st deadline. Submitted three funding applications to the Continuous Improvement Fund (CIF). The Town of Iroquois Falls submitted applications for the following: o Equipment for the implementation of a Curbside Recycling Program. The Town has requested $400,000 from CIF. o Promotion and Development Campaign. The Town has requested $15,000 from CIF. o Routing Efficiency Audit. The Town has requested $35,000 from CIF. The Audit will provide collection route optimization, identify partnerships, identify operating expenses/savings, and help identify new revenue opportunities. Regulatory sampling completed in all three systems. Completed Regulatory quarterly sampling in all three systems. Completed 23 locate requests for water distribution and wastewater collection. Well inspections. Unidirectional hydrant flushing program has begun Completed methane sampling on raw water. Posted water shut off notices. Repaired three water main breaks. Completed monthly water meter readings. Completed three handheld water meter readings. Completed 2 water meter repairs. Cleaned and checked colorimeters, injectors and analyzers in all three systems. For the period of May 20 to 22, 2015, the Municipality experienced two power outage which was problematic to the Waterworks Staff. The Porquis Drinking Water SCADA system lost all programming and communications immediately after both of the outages. The water treatment facility was operated manually until the programming and communication was reinstalled. Regular treatment plant and collection maintenance activities have continued. On January 1, 2015, new requirements of the Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations were implemented for Owners and Operators of Continuous Discharging Wastewater Systems. The Municipality is now required to complete an Acute Lethality test in each quarter of the year. Our first sample did not meet federal standard and we are now required to sample and test twice a month until we have three consecutive passes. Wastewater facilities experiencing over flow bypasses due to electrical power failure. Overtime Summary: Wastewater Treatment 9.5 Hours Wastewater Collection 19.5 Hours Public Works Department Projects: 375mm Sanitary Sewer Replacement EBC will begin to complete the remaining work on June 2, 2015. The tentative schedule outlines a completion date of July 20, 2015 to complete/correct all remaining work. Aurora Ave Reconstruction Interpaving Inc. has begun the remaining 2015 work on May 19th, 2015. Tentative schedule outlines a completion date near the end of June or early July. Victoria Rd Reconstruction Soils investigation begun during the week of May 25th, 2015. The Geotechnical report will take approximately a month to produce. The Geotechnical report needs to be included with the Tender, therefore, the earliest that we could go to tender would be mid-July. The list below outlines the progress of work to date: Duct work and diffusers are fully installed within the bulkhead. Temperature control in space is installed. Duct work outside of building is fully installed and insulated. Insulation waterproofing is finalized on exterior duct work. The air handling unit was installed on the concrete pad. It is not operational at this time (electrical work is not yet completed) Service entrance rated main panel in the Electrical room is on site but is not installed and no connections have been made at this time. Electrical feed was installed from the Electrical room to the cooling unit. No connections made to the unit. Remaining electrical work will be completed once the electrical service is upgraded. Tentative delivery date of the transformer is early August. .
