Watch Sarbjit’s struggle for freedom in the World Television Premiere on Sony MAX ~ Catch the emotional journey of Sarbjit and his family on 22nd December at 8pm on Sony MAX ~ Mumbai, 18th December, 2017: Sony MAX, the leading Hindi movies channel from Sony Pictures Networks brings Aishwarya Rai’s Bollywood comeback with the heart- touching biopic of Sarbjit on 22nd December at 8pm. Based on the life of Sarbjit Singh, a farmer who was wrongfully convicted in Pakistan and died after a fatal assault inside jail, the movie ‘Sarbjit’ focuses on his sister Dalbir Kaur’s fight against the system to prove his innocence. Directed by Omung Kumar, with Randeep Hooda and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in pivotal roles, the movie paints a picture of the struggles of Sarbjit, played by Randeep Hooda. The movie evokes pathos for the lead character, Sarbjit and his sister, Dalbir Kaur, played effortlessly by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Randeep Hooda arouses pity as Sarbjit highlighting Dalbir Kaur’s fight for justice for her brother for over twenty years, leaving us teary-eyed. Comments: Randeep Hooda “I have been equally involved in all my projects, but 'Sarbjit' has certainly been a lot more emotionally involving. I had to go through it all over again while dubbing. Dalbir and the family's struggles are well documented in the media, while Sarbjit's isn't. For 23 years, the only reference point we have is one photograph, some letters and a minute-long video with 30 seconds muted, of him confessing his crime when he is looking drugged out. The real challenge was how to go about it as there are no blueprints.” Extraaa Shots: Known for getting into the skin of a character, Randeep Hooda lost 18 kgs in 28 days for Sarbjit While shooting for a scene, Aishwarya’s footwear broke and the actress suggested that she run bare feet. Without even flinching once, she finished the shot in one take. Her feet were bruised by the end of the shot because of the roads which were in poor condition with tiny sharp stones Catch Sarbjit’s heartbreaking story only on Sony MAX on 22nd December at 8pm About SONY MAX: SONY MAX, India’s premier Hindi Movie channel, backed by Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is a part of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN), one of India’s leading television network.
