2011 Individual Officer Program – Frequently Asked Questions 2011 INDIVIDUAL OFFICER PROGRAM – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: I’m the head of Department. Can I sign my own letterhead? A: Yes. Q: Can I have my firearm transferred to a Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) Dealer? A: Our factory direct purchase program is for delivery to your agency only. If you wish to purchase a firearm locally, contact your nearest SIG SAUER Public Safety Center for Law Enforcement products and pricing. Additional fees apply for shipping and handling/sales tax/transfer. Q: Why can’t I fax my order to SIG SAUER? A: Fax machines obscure the image on the Law Enforcement ID card. Q: If I use my credit card, when am I billed for the merchandise? A: Your credit card will be billed when your order departs from SIG SAUER. Q: Why can’t I use a debit card? A: Debit purchases immediately reserve funds and show a temporary charge on your statement. This can lead a customer to believe their order has shipped before it is truly in transit. Q: Why can’t I use a personal check? A: Personal checks must be held for clearance and delay shipments to customers. Q: Why does it take 8 weeks or more for delivery? A: SIG SAUER Law Enforcement products are built to order. Depending upon the backlog and production schedule, some items may take the full 8 weeks but many take less. Items with longer lead times are in high demand and simply exceed our normal production capacity. Q: I would like to have my firearm customized. Is this possible? A: We are unable to accept custom orders on this program. Customization would have to occur through the SIG SAUER Custom Shop after the sale and receipt of your firearm. Q: I only want to order accessories. Do I still need a letterhead to ship them to my agency? A: No, a letterhead authorization is required only for firearms. We do require a photocopy of your Law Enforcement ID card to be included with your order for the discounted pricing. Q: Do I have to pay Sales Tax or Shipping & Handling in addition to the price listed? A: Sales tax does not apply to purchases made in the State of New Hampshire. You may be subject to a local use tax depending upon your state of residence. We do not charge Shipping & Handling on the Law Enforcement Program for firearms. Accessory order less than $100.00 are subject to a $7.95 S&H charge. Q: I’m retired from Law Enforcement. Can I still ship the firearm to my former agency with an endorsed letterhead? A: All retired Law Enforcement Officers must purchase discounted firearms through a SIG SAUER Public Safety Sales Center. Q: My Chief won’t sign the Agency Authorization Letterhead because the text refers to the firearm being for official use only and not for personal use. I thought the firearm was going to be my personal property? A: You are correct. The text refers to acceptance by your Chief that this firearm is for on-duty or off-duty use and is not being purchased for resale to a third party. Q: My Agency does not permit me to photocopy my credentials (or) doesn’t issue ID Cards. How do I complete my order? A: Please submit an Agency letterhead endorsed by your supervisor verifying your employment with a photocopy of your driver’s license to verify your identification. Q: I am a resident of CA, HI, MA, MD, NJ or NY. Why am I excluded from the Individual Officer Purchase Program? A: Your state has special firearms registry requirements that are not covered by an Agency letterhead transfer. Please contact a SIG SAUER Public Safety Sales Center to make your purchase. Q: The firearm that I wish to purchase is not on the attached price list. Can I still order it factory direct? A: Only the firearms on the Individual Officer Purchase Program Price List are eligible for factory direct purchase. Please contact a SIG SAUER Public Safety Sales Center for firearms purchases not included in this program. 2011 INDIVIDUAL OFFICER PROGRAM ORDER FORM Valid until 12/31/2011 You must be an ACTIVE Law Enforcement Officer to purchase a firearm. Since then, more than 887 people have been killed and more than 1,578 injured by these weapons. Towns like Parkland, Las Vegas, Newtown, Aurora and San Bernardino and are now known for the mass shootings that shocked the nation. Mass murders in these towns and others across America demonstrate all too clearly the need to regulate deadly assault weapons and high-capac- ity ammunition magazines. On January 9, 2019, we introduced a new Assault Weapons Ban of 2019. This legislation, stron- ger than the 1994 bill, has two primary goals: • First, halt the sale, manufacture, transfer and importation of 205 of the most commonly-owned military-style assault weapons and ban an additional group of assault weapons that are particularly lethal because they can accept a detachable ammunition magazine and have one or more military characteristics. • Second, ban large-capacity magazines and other ammunition feeding devices that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition.

  • Small Arms in Small Hands
Christopher Steinmetz (BITS) German Arms Exports Violating Children’s Rights Small Arms in Small Hands Cooperation partner Publisher Help for Children in Need This study is dedicated to Otfried Nassauer (1956 – 2020), who passed away unexpectedly and much too early. Without him and his decade-spanning commitment to peace, disarmament and arms control this study would never have been written. As director of the Berlin Information-Center for Transatlantic Security (BITS), which he co-founded in 1991, and with his vast knowledge, his relentless research and questioning, his astute comments and advice he has laid the foundations for today’s critical discussion on German arms export policy. We will miss him dearly.
