Faustino "Pat" Patricio Sr. of Kekaha died at his home on Jan. 24, 2005, at the age of 85. Born in Kapa‘a on Oct. 29, 1919, he served as a mechanic in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He retired as a supervisor from the Kekaha Sugar Co. and also was a school bus driver for Akita Enterprises. He coached youth football and baseball as well as refereed and umpired, respectively. He loved playing Senior Softball and was a member of the first team from Hawai‘i to ever win the World Series (75andover division.) He is survived by his wife Estrellita C. GEORGE S. PERREIRA OCTOBER 18, 1918 - MAY 17, 2005 Age 86, passed away peacefully May 17, 2005 at his residence in Kaneohe. Born in Koloa, Kauaion October 18, 1918, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a night supervisor for Shop 99 at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, receiving many commendations for his work on nuclear subs, retiring after 40 years of service. He was also blessed to offer his skills doing maintenance work for the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts in Nuuanu and Kaimuki. One of the original four men coaching the newly organized Kaneohe Little League in 1955, he coached the Cardinals and the Pony League Tigers for many years. He was also a Boy Scout leader. Later he became the Assistant Manager and Manager of Honolulu Central Service and Group Central Service Manager. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Cerelina Guerzon, for 55 years. Donald F. Pilkington of Koloa, formerly of Wallingford, Conn., died July 7, 2005, after a brief illness. ANNETTE CHRISTINE (CABRIDO) POTHUL A truly bright and shining light, full of life, love, passion and laughter was taken prematurely from this earth on the morning of January 4, 2005 at the young age of 44. Annette was born in Honolulu, grew up in Waipahu (Class of 1978), spent 11 years in Kailua and was a current resident of Kahala. She passed away in Queen's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and friends after a courageous fight against overwhelming odds. Annette was the loving mother of three young and beautiful boys, Alec, Brandon and Kyle, and the adoring wife of husband Douglas Pothul. Born on June 24, 1960, she was the second child of Anatalio and Claire Cabrido, and sister of Deborah and Robert Cabrido of Honolulu, Linda Meisenheimer of Alaska and the late Anna Wolters of Maine. An enthusiastic adventurer of life, Annette enjoyed travel, but most of all loved to be with her three sons and husband. After a career in residential and commercial real estate, Annette spent the last 11 years caring for her family. "PAPA" WILLIAM LAUTAIMI PRESCOTT Born October 19, 1921 and passed away in Honolulu on May 8, 2005. His parents, Makaloni and Akesa Tuitufu Prescott; his beloved sweetheart of 46 years, wife, Siu Finau; adopted father & uncle, Manisela Prescott; brothers, Manu, Ofiu, Siaosi, Viliami; daughter-in-law, Taimalie Tuia Prescott (Sione) preceded Papa in death. Papa was married to Siu Fianu in 1949. They had 6 children, where 2 were born in Samoa. He was widowed in 1994. Papa was proud of his Tongan, Samoan, American heritage. Raised in Tonga, moved to Am. Samoa (1960's) to nurture the family ties with the children of the late Ana Prescott of the Vaagi family from Moata'a and high chief Unutoa of Aua. Late Siupolu Maafala is the oldest daughter, Moetoto Timoteo's mother. Rest of Ana's children, Saoimanulua, Lekaea, Faafiu, Penoga & Leagoa. Papa moved to Hawaii, mid 70's fulfilling a life long dream to settle in America. He wanted to be close to a son who was in the army and a daughter who attended the University of Portland Oregon. He lived for his children. And a good many of his nephews. He taught them to become auto mechanics and encouraged them to live a Christian life. He was a true angel of mercy. He was humble, generous and lived an unselfish life style. We will miss him very much. Papa was proud to recite how William Lloyd Prescott, his great grandfather, sailed from Louisiana (late 1800's), to the South Pacific. He married in Manihiki, Cook Islands, begot daughter, Luseanne (Ana's mother) and son, George who married Lesieli Uhi of Tonga, and begot Makaloni Prescott, 5th child, (Papa's father). Their 1st born Luseanne Prescott Kaho is great grandmother of HRH Princess Kaimana of Tonga. Lesieli Uhi is related to HRM Queen Halaevalu Mata'aho of Tonga. [Adv Mar. 5, 2005] Robert Joseph 'lopaka Proulx - Every year for 35 years, Robert Joseph 'lopaka Proulx came to Hawaii to pursue his love of the steel guitar and made it his six-month winter home. "It was his dream as a child," longtime friend Rudi Lowe said. The 89-year-old played his last Hawaiian tune on Waikiki Beach in March. Proulx died Friday in Manchester, N.H., two days after a school bus struck him as he drove a motor scooter. Proulx played with the "Hau Tree Gang," which included some well-known singers, Lowe said. Although he could play any instrument, Proulx's favorite and trademark was the Hawaiian steel guitar. Proulx developed a love of Hawaiian music in the 1930s. He traveled with his band, the Paramount Hawaiian Orchestra, performing in places like the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York as well as entertaining troops across the country, Lowe said. "He made Hawaiian music popular (on the mainland)," he said. Proulx is survived by 10 children. DOROTHY REYNOLDS PUZON - Dorothy Reynolds Puzon made her transition peacefully on January 27, 2005. She was a gift to all who knew her. She was an accomplished concert pianist and also taught music at private and public schools. Graduating from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, she received two bachelor's degrees in music and school music. She completed her musical training at the Julliard School of Music and also earned a master's degree in education at Columbia University. Born in Buffalo, New York, she had resided in Kailua and more recently made her home in Pomona, New York and Englewood, New Jersey. From 1990 through 1998, she was the accompanist for the Bergen County Senior Concert Choir in New Jersey. She is descended from some of the first English colonists who settled in Virginia in 1622. Her ancestors fought in the American Revolution and the Civil War, for both the North and South. She is survived by daughters Julianne in Wahiawa and Virginia in New York.
