Serbia will strive to their first competitive victory in Belgrade since September 2011 when they welcome already-qualified Portugal in their final UEFA EURO 2016 Group I game. • Portugal booked their place in France, as group winners, with a 1-0 home win against Denmark on 8 October. They have won their last six qualifiers. Previous meetings • Fábio Coentrão scored the winner as Portugal beat Serbia 2-1 in the sides' Group I meeting in Lisbon on 29 March. • Portugal and Serbia have now met three times since the break-up of Yugoslavia: a pair of 1-1 draws in UEFA EURO 2008 qualification preceding Portugal's springtime victory at the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica. • Portugal's four encounters with Yugoslavia were close – W2 D0 L2, in addition to a match at the 1928 Olympic Games which the Iberian team edged 2-1. • To date, both sides have scored in all seven senior contests between Portugal and Yugoslavia/Serbia. Form guide • Serbia ended a two-game wait for a competitive home win when they overcame Armenia 2-0 in their most recent Group I home fixture – in Novi Sad on 4 September. • Serbia are without a competitive victory in five matches in Belgrade (D2 L3) since a 3-1 dismissal of the Faroe Islands in September 2011. • Portugal have won their last six away qualifiers since a 3-3 draw in Israel in March 2013. Disciplinary • The latest booking list is available here: http://www.uefa.org/disciplinary/disciplinary-cases/booking-lists/index.html. Trivia and links • The game is taking place the day after Portugal coach Fernando Santos turns 61. • Serbia Ljubomir Fejsa plays his club with SL Benfica. • Serbia's Dušan Tadić and Portugal's José Fonte are club-mates at Southampton FC. • Serbia have had the better of the countries' five matches in UEFA age-group competitions: W2 D3 L0. • The 21 meetings between clubs from the two nations in UEFA competition have slightly favoured the Portuguese sides: W8 D7 L6.

5 Serbia - Portugal Sunday 11 October 2015 - 18.00CET (18.00 local time) Match press kit Stadion FK Partizan, Belgrade Head coach Radovan Ćurčić Date of birth: 10 January 1972 Nationality: Serbian Playing career: FK Javor (three times), FK Sloboda Užice, OFK Beograd, NK Gorica, FK Priština, FK Borac Čačak Coaching career: FK Javor (twice), FK Borac Čačak, Serbia (assistant, caretaker), Serbia Under-21, Serbia • A powerful forward, Ćurčić was top scorer in the second division for Javor in 2001/02, managing 24 goals. • Having hung up his boots in 2003, promptly moved into coaching with Javor, where he stayed till 2006. After a season at Borac (2006/07), returned for a second stint at Javour, staying till 2010. • Accepted invitation to work as Vladimir Petrović's assistant with the national team ahead of the 2010/11 season, but found himself in caretaker charge following the latter's resignation in October 2011. • Following appointment of Siniša Mihajlović as Petrović's permanent successor, Ćurčić took over as Serbia Under-21 coach and went on to lead the team to the 2015 UEFA European U21 Championship finals, eliminating Spain – who had won the two previous tournaments – in the play-offs. • Ćurčić, however, would not be around for the tournament in the Czech Republic, stepping back up to the senior side after resigned in November 2014; this time he was given the role on a long-term basis, agreeing a deal until after the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Fernando Santos Date of birth: 10 October 1954 Nationality: Portuguese Playing career: SL Benfica, CS Marítimo, GD Estoril-Praia Coaching career: GD Estoril-Praia, CF Estrela da Amadora, FC Porto, AEK FC (twice), Panathinaikos FC, Sporting Clube de Portugal, SL Benfica, PAOK FC, Greece, Portugal • A left-back, Santos started his playing days at home-town club Benfica before two-year stints with Marítimo and Estoril-Praia. Retired in 1975. • After a career change as a technician – Santos holds a degree in electrical and telecommunications engineering – he returned to football in 1987, taking over at former team Estoril-Praia. Stayed seven years, guiding them to two promotions and the Portuguese top flight. • Had four seasons with Estrela da Amadora prior to joining Porto in 1998. Led his side to the Liga title in his first term, adding two domestic cups before departing for AEK in 2001. Again made an instant impact, lifting the 2002 Greek Cup. Went to Panathinaikos that summer followed by spells at Sporting, AEK and Benfica. • He then revived PAOK's fortunes, steering them to runners-up spot in the 2009/10 Super League to earn a place in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round. Announced his departure in May 2010 and was confirmed as Otto Rehhagel's successor as Greece coach six weeks later, proving an immediate hit as he helped them to UEFA EURO 2012. • Repeated the feat for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, guiding them to the last 16, before stepping down. He was appointed by Portugal that September after 's departure following a 1-0 defeat by Albania and led them to UEFA EURO 2016 thanks to six successive victories.

EURO finals: The UEFA European Championship was a four-team event in 1960, 1964, 1968, 1972 and 1976 (when the preliminary round and quarter-finals were considered part of qualifying).

From 1980 it was expanded to an eight-team finals and remained in that format in 1984, 1988 and 1992 until 1996, when the 16-team format was adopted. UEFA EURO 2016 was the first tournament to be played as a 24-team finals.

Records of inactive countries A number of UEFA associations have been affected by dissolution or splits of member associations. For statistical purposes, the records of these inactive countries have been allocated elsewhere: therefore, all Soviet Union matches are awarded to Russia; all West Germany – but not East Germany – matches are awarded to Germany; all Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro matches are awarded to Serbia; all Czechoslovakia matches are allocated to both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Abandoned/forfeited matches For statisical purposes, when a match has been started and then abandoned but later forfeited, the result on the pitch at the time of abandonment is counted. Matches that never started and were either cancelled or forfeited are not included in the overall statistics.
