Global Automotive Books I think this is now the largest list of books and magazines in the world on Motor Vehicles. I think I maybe the only person trying to find and document every Book and Magazine on Motor Vehicles. This is a 70+ year trip for me all over the world. Some people have called this an obsession, I call it my passion. This has been a hobby for me since I was about 10 years old. I don’t work on it everyday. I don’t do this for money. I don't have any financial help. I have no books or magazines for sale or trade. I do depend on other Book and Magazine collectors for information on titles I don’t have. Do you know of a Book, Magazine, Newsletter or Newspaper not on my list?? Is my information up to date?? If not can you help bring it up to date?? I depend on WORD-OF-MOUTH advertising so please tell your friends and anyone else that you think would have an interest in collecting books and magazines on motor vehicles. I am giving my Book and Magazine Lists to Richard Carroll to publish on his web - site at www.21speedwayshop.com take a look.. All I am collecting now is any issue of a title. If you are the first to send me a copy of a magazine I don’t have I will thank you with a mention under the title. Because of two strokes and a back injury from falling down the stairs this is about all I can do now. It also keeps me from chasing fast women which I can't catch anymore. I want to thank the three ladies who have keep me alive Allison Mattila & Lydia Warner & Barbara McNaughton my health care prividers. I started publishing this list because Steve Kuk and I each had a list of magazines and we combined them. We both wondered when a magazine started, how often it was printed and when it died. I started printing this magazine list around 1980 with 883 titles by 1985 it had just over 1700 titles now it has over 10,500+ titles. I also have over 11.000+ book titles listed. I am looking for Automobile, Bus, Motorcycle & Truck Book, Magazine, Newsletter & Newspaper titles and addresses. I want this list to be the most comprehensive in the world. I can only do this with the help of others. Can you tell your readers about my effort?? Niels Jorgensen has sent me by far the most magazine titles and Gary Fisk has sent me the most magazines. These titles can come from Club, Commercial, Company & Industry from any Country in the world and in any language. The hardest type of publications to get information on are Club, Company & Industry the reason because you have to be member or employee. I want to thank the ladies at THREE CUPS COFFEE (Leah, Lindsey, Ashley, Paula, Melissa, Carly & Nancy) in Astoria, Oregon For putting up with me for 2 or 3 hours a day on the internet. I also want to thank Matt Love for the article he did on me in the Coast Weekend section of 4 Sep. 2014 The Daily Astorian, he also published a book called "A Nice Piece Of Astoria" " A Narrative Guide" published by Nestucca Spit Press with a chapter on me called "Second Day in town". These fellows have helped with one or more of my lists. • MGA and MGB: Aussie Doctor and the World's Fastest ‘Super Bee’
MGA and MGB: Aussie doctor and the world's fastest ‘Super Bee’ 27 September 2018 By MarkOastler Doctor Iain Corness and the ‘Super Bee’ were a potent combination, reaching the peak of their performance in 1971. Here they’re in full flight at Sydney’s Warwick Farm in 1970. Love the decal on the windshield, which reads 'The Civilised Sports Car' - it was anything but civilised by the time Corness had finished with it! The MGA and MGB were the ultimate in MG sports cars during the halcyon days of Australian production sports car racing (ProdSports) in the 1950s and 1960s. In fact, at one stage it was claimed that a locally-developed MGB was the fastest Prodsports MGB in the world. That bold statement, by none other than parent company British Leyland, was in 1971 when Queensland doctor Iain Corness and his hand-built ‘Super Bee’ were part of the company’s factory-backed racing team called the British Leyland Young Lions. In reality, Leyland’s claim would have been difficult to authenticate, given that Australia was little more than an international backwater at the time and MGBs were competing successfully in other much larger markets including the UK and USA. Even so, by 1971 the Super Bee was more highly developed than even factory-backed MGBs competing in the UK, given that it was equipped with a unique locally developed DOHC engine. And after several seasons it was continuing to set new lap records, with one remaining unbeaten for eight years. On some tracks it was recording similar times to the top V8 Mustang touring cars of its day.

v 7. EFFECTS ON LABORATORY MAMMALS AND IN VITRO TEST SYSTEMS 7.1 Single exposure 7. I.I Lethality In a study to determine the acute toxicity of four zinc compounds (acetate, nitrate, chloride and sulfate) administered by the oral or intraperitoneal route to male Swiss mice and male Sprague Dawley rats (Table 20), the majority of deaths occurred during the first 48 h. The clinical and physical signs of toxicity included miosis, conjunctivitis, decreased food and water consump- tion, haemorrhage and haematosis in the tail. These effects were reported to diminish with time, indicating rapid elimination of zinc from the body. The acute toxicity of zinc varied with the zinc salt . used, and ranged from 237 to, 623 mg/kg in rats and from 86 to 605 mgkg in mice after oral administration; the acute toxicity following an intraperitoneal dose ranged from 28 to 73 mg/kg in rats and from 32 to 115 mg/kg in mice (Doming0 et al., 1988). LCso values following inhalation exposure to zinc chloride were 11 800 mg/min per m3 in mice (Schenker et al., 1981) and 2000 mg/m3 in rats (Karlsson et al., 1991). 7.1.2 Acute studies: summary of key findings Zinc chloride can produce significant lung damage in rats when instilled directly into the lung; zinc oxide, by contrast, does not produce lung damage even when administered at relatively high concentrations. This is possibly due to the respective solubilities of the two compounds: zinc chloride is readily soluble in water whereas zinc oxide is not. Zinc chloride induces intra-alveolar oedema which closely resembles the effects of inhaled zinc oxide/hexachloroethane smoke in experimental animals.

  • We Celebrate One of the Great Racing Car Constructors
LOLA AT 60 WE CELEBRATE ONE OF THE GREAT RACING CAR CONSTRUCTORS Including FROM BROADLEY TO BIRRANE GREATEST CARS LOLA’S SECRET WEAPON THE AUDI CHALLENGER The success of the Mk1 sports-racer, usually powered by the Coventry Climax 1100cc FWA engine, brought Lola Cars into existence. It overshadowed the similar e orts of Lotus boss Colin Chapman and remained competitive for several seasons. We believe it is one of designer Eric Broadleyʼs greatest cars, so turn to page 16 to see what our resident racer made of the original prototype at Donington Park. Although the coupe is arguably more iconic, the open version of the T70 was more successful. Developed in 1965, the Group 7 machine could take a number of di erent V8 engines and was ideal for the inaugural Can-Am contest in ʼ66. Champion John Surtees, Dan Gurney and Mark Donohue won races during the campaign, while Surtees was the only non-McLaren winner in ʼ67. The big Lola remains a force in historic racing.
