• e-navigation is a concept intended to secure simplified and coordinated electronic handling of information onboard and ashore in order to:

• Increase safety of navigation and the protection of the environment in coastal zones and at sea. • Contribute to higher efficiency and reduced costs in the maritime sector. • Facilitate the workload onboard and for shore-based functions. • Provide a basis for improved contingency services.

Some of our challanges:

• New generation of navigators (the Nintendo Generation).

• Shortage of competent personnel – need to have the most modern equipment to attract people.

• Higher and higher workload for bridge personnel in general.

• Request for provision of a uniform DOF e-navigation package.

• DOF Fleet agreement with Navtor, in February 2014. • Pay as you sail installed on all vessels. • Tracking of all vessels in Navtracker. • Gradually change to digital Nautical Publications. • Test of NavStation.
