Oak framing has a long history and tradition. Just walking through some of England’s historic towns and villages can reveal a wealth of timber-framed buildings often 500 years old or more. The materials and techniques have clearly stood the test of time. Modern timber framing doesn’t reinvent the wheel; these were highly sophisticated structures, utilising the natural strength and durability of oak.
