Kamal Nath. It is Rs 50,000 crore farm loan waiver scheme for farmers. The loan waiver forms could be submitted till February 5 and farmers would start getting the benefits from February 22. Key points i. On 5th January 2019, the state cabinet decided to waive crop loans of 55 lakh small and marginal farmers in the state. The eligibility cut-off date has been extended to December 12, 2018 from March 31, 2018. ii. Only those farmers who have not registered themselves to pay Ͷ GST and income tax can avail benefits under this scheme. www.straightzero.in iii. Earlier former Chief Minister Shri. Shivraj Singh Chouhan also launched similar scheme named ‘Bhavantar Yojana’. Madhya Pradesh launched employment scheme “Yuva Swabhiman Yojana” for urban youth On January 26,2019, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath launched ‘Yuva Swabhiman Yojana’ for youths of the weak section in urban areas of Madhya Pradesh About the scheme: i. The scheme was launched in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh ii. It aims to provide employment to the youth belonging to the weaker section of the society mainly in urban areas of the state. iii. Under this scheme, 100 days of employment will be provided. iv . Registration of interested urban poor youth under this scheme will start on February 10,2019 . v. Apart from these 100 days employment , they will also be given skill training by the government. ͷ www.straightzero.in Madhya Pradesh government to create an Adhyatmik Vibhag (spiritual department) On 29th December 2018, The Congress-led Madhya Pradesh Government announced that it is going to create an Adhyatmik Vibhag (spiritual department) by merging several existing departments. Key Points: i. The Congress had promised to form such a department before the last month’s Assembly elections. ii. The proposed Adhyatmik Vibhag (Spiritual Department) going to be formed by merging Dharmik Nyas Evam Dharmasv Department (Religious Trust and Endowment Department), Anand Vibhag (Happiness Department) in addition to the Directorate of Religious Trust and Endowment, Madhya Pradesh Teerth Evam Mela Pradhikaran and Rajya Anand Sansthan. iii. Madhya Pradesh had become the first state in the country to create Happiness Department. ͸ www.straightzero.in Purchase of new vehicles, ACs banned for government departments: Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath On December 31, 2018, Chief Minister of the Congress led government of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath , banned the purchase of new vehicles and air conditioners (ACs) by the government departments due to huge debt of the state . i. Also, the expenditure incurred on office items has been limited on the basis of the difference between the allocated budge t for these expenses in the financial year 2018-19 and the expenditure incurred in the financial year 2017-18. ii. Although, hospitals, hostels, Anganwadis, shelter homes have been kept out of the purview of the limitations. Background: According to a report of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) tabled in the Vidhan Sabha in March 2018, Madhya Pradesh is struggling with a huge debt of nearly Rs 1.83 crore Awards under Swasth Bharat Yatra ͹ www.straightzero.in The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) had launched Swasth Bharat Yatra to amplify its Eat Right India initiativ e. Swasth Bharat Yatra was a 100-day consumer outreach programme. The Yatra saw the participation of around 2.5 crore people across various States and UTs . It also led to the creation of 21,000 local ‘Eat Right Champions’ who would sustain this movement in the future. Awards for Exemplary participation The following states were awarded for their Exemplary participation: Best State Overall: Tamil Nadu Best States with a population above 3 crores: Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
