Otterbein

Otterbein University is a small, private liberal arts university located in picturesque Westerville, — just minutes away from downtown Columbus. We are the perfect location for undergraduate and graduate students to find internships and worldwide networking opportunities. Our total enroll sits right around 3,000 men and women from throughout the United States and several foreign countries.

Majors and programs Otterbein offers a choice of more than 70 majors and 44 minors, as well as individualized courses of study. Among our most popular majors include Nursing, Education, Theatre, Zoo and Conservation, and Engineering. We also offer five graduate programs in business administration, education and nursing, including our doctor of nursing practice degree. The student to faculty ratio at Otterbein is 12:1. Otterbein follows a faculty advisor style, meaning that a professor within your major, will be there to help you with future course scheduling, internship opportunities, and much more.

Costs Otterbein’s Commitment is clear, simple, and easy to understand in regards to obtaining an cost- efficient education. Tuition transparency is one part of Otterbein’s commitment to students and families to keep a college education as affordable as possible. Currently tuition right around $33,000 for students who are commuting and $42,000 for those who want to live on campus (room and board is around $11,000). Some majors require additional costs within tuition, for example: Engineering, Equine, BSN.

How to apply. These are the steps to apply:

* Submit your final high school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores

* Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary schools you have attended

Scholarship info Academic merit scholarships are awarded based on strength of academic performance, including High School GPA/Cumulative post-secondary GPA, class rank (if available) and ACT or SAT score. Otterbein also offers students who have obtained their Associates Degree a renewable $17,000 per academic year scholarship if they graduated with a 2.75 GPA or higher from an accredited Community College. Indiana Wesleyan

Majors and programs: Over 90 programs taught online. Costs YSU is a State institution, so current (2019-2020) in-state tuition per year is $9, 210. 72. The tuition is frozen for up to 4 years for any student to finish their degree. The tuition for the 2020-2021 academic year has not been released yet, but students will be able to find that information online at www.ysu.edu/finaid and click “Tuition Estimator”. Transcripts, GPA, etc. needed Minimum gpa to be admitted is 2.0, but some students may be admitted on a case by case basis if the gpa is below 2.0. If a student has attended more than one institution then the gpa will be combined to determine admission. Official transcripts from all colleges attended are required (at this time) for an admission decision to be made. A student must contact each institution previously attended to request the official transcript.

Scholarship info Transfer scholarships are provided to transfer students who have at lease a 3.0 or higher with 12 hours earned on 2 different levels: 3.0-3.49 is provided $1000 per year (split in half for each semester) and 3.5-4.0 is provided $1500 per year (split in half for each semester). YSU also offers a scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa members with proof of membership ($1500 per year, split in half for each semester). PTK certificates can be emailed to Kim Avery, Associate Director of Admissions, at [email protected] and any scholarship questions for transfer can also be directed to her. YSU does pro- rate scholarship amounts down to 6 hours each semester (6-8 hours receives 50% of earned amounts and 9-11 hours receives 75% of earned amounts). YSU transfer scholarships are renewable for up to 3 years as long as the student is maintaining a YSU gpa of 3.0 or higher with 12 hours earned per year.
