At km 10, the breakaway are 2’40” up the road already, and their lead keeps going up, reaching 3’05” at km 20. The situation settles, and the gap hovers around two and a half minutes from km 25 through 35. The pace goes on a notch in the peloton, as the first intermediate sprint approaches.
